"Are you sure this will work?" I held the tape.

"It should buy us some time." "I think she's getting more relaxed with checking the cameras." Cameron finished taping the black paper over the camera in the living room.

"No thanks to you." I smirked up at him.

"Hey, I have been incredibly behaved these last three weeks." He stepped down from the chair he was standing on and wrapped his arms around me. "She even lets me walk around the living room now."

"Yes, but I'm the one who has to keep reminding you to keep your hands off of me." I held his cheek and looked into his eyes. "I guess even if this plan only works for a day, it's still a day that we get to do whatever we want."

"Like dance around and make mac 'n' cheese?" Cameron threw his head back and laughed.

I played with the collar of his shirt. "I guess we could do that." "I was thinking more of finally getting to sit together on the couch and coloring in that coloring book Hannah's dad snuck me."

"Mmmmm." "Finally getting to be closer to you does sound nice." He backed up and held my hands. "It's been a long three weeks." He spun me around.

"The good thing is that I haven't had to go back to the closet, and there's food." I giggled. I walked towards the kitchen. I pulled out a pot and a spoon. I held them up playfully. "Ready Chef Cameron?"

He sauntered up to me and wrapped his arms around my waist. "Let's get started Chef Kate."

I playfully tapped him on the head with the pot. He backed up and I handed him the pot. "Here you can fill this."

He stepped over to the sink and began filling the pot with water. I reached up to the cabinet to grab the box of mac' n' cheese.

"You know, Kate, I really miss seeing the angel wings tattoo."

I set the mac' n' cheese down. "Well I like my legs not being cold all the time." I stuck my tongue out at him playfully. "Plus." I pulled on the leggings. "Who doesn't love these prints?"

Cameron looked up and down my legs. His eyes returned to mine and he smiled. "They are pretty cute."

We danced around the kitchen while the water boiled on the stove. We sang duets of our favorite songs at the top of our lungs. That night was the best we had had in a month. We felt free and happy, like we weren't being held captive in the middle of the desert and like there wasn't Crazy Hannah sleeping just a few hundred feet away. We just relaxed and enjoyed the night we got to spend together. We fed each other mac' n' cheese and laughed so hard we cried. We cuddled and colored. We argued over what color we should make a tiger.

"It should be orange." "Tigers are orange."

I turned my head to look up at Cameron. "Well I think it'd be fun to have a hot pink tiger."

Cameron kissed my nose. "You've totally picked the color of all of the last three animals."

"And you get to decide on the backgrounds." I rested my head on his chest. "It's like kids, the mom picks the first name the dad gets to decide on the middle name."

Cameron laughed. "Is that the way it's going to be with our kids?"

I closed the coloring book and threw it on the floor. "All 136 of them?"

Cameron smiled and ran his fingers through my hair. "If that's how many you want, that's how many we'll have." "But I should get to pick the first name for at least a couple of them."

"Well, if we get out of here together and we do decide to have all those kids, I guess I could compromise on a few." I laughed softly.

Cameron yawned. "I am so tired." "We better head to bed." "Hannah's probably going to want us up early, as usual."

I looked down at the couch. "I should probably sleep here." "Even if she couldn't see any of tonight, it'd be pretty hard to explain why she found me in bed with you again."

Cameron caressed my cheek. "If you insist." He held me a little closer.

I pulled away to let him get up, but just as I did he pulled me back in.

He leaned in and closed his eyes. I leaned a little closer and tilted my head. It seemed so strange that we could have these feeling given our situation. But as I laid there in his arms feeling the warmth of his body and the softness of his lips, I was never surer of my feelings for someone.

I felt him pull back and I opened my eyes. "I love you Cam." I said softly.

"I love you to, Kate."

I had never felt sadder sleeping alone on the couch than that night. I lay there wrapped up in the comforter trying to achieve the warmth I felt when I was laying there with him. But it was impossible. There was nothing else that could compare to that feeling of warmth, happiness, security.
