"Can you zip me up?" I pulled my long brown curls to the side, exposing the zipper down the back of my dress. I had considered cutting most of my hair off in the hospital. A part of me wanted to start over, to change and try to forget the past. I couldn't bring myself to do it though. My hair had always been a large part of my identity, I thought of it as my best feature. In the past year it had grown down past my waist and now rested gently just below the bottom of my butt. It was smooth and shiny again, I could take better care of it now that I was free.

Cameron stood behind me and zipped my dress all the way to the top. He gently moved my hair back to my back and kissed me lightly on the cheek.

I turned around and looked into his eyes. I played with the lapels of his suit jacket nervously. He held the undersides of my wrists. "It'll all be ok."

I looked into his warm brown eyes, like two muddy creek bottoms illuminated in the summer sun. I took a deep breath and nodded. "I hope."

He held my cheek and kissed me. He tucked a locked of my hair behind my ear and traced my jaw with his finger. "You're my sunshine, the light in my life." "I love you and will be here with you forever, no matter what."

I giggled. "You've always been the biggest charmer I know, Cameron."

He held my hands and spun me around. He pulled me into his chest. I felt his warm breath tickling the back of my neck. "But you love me for it." He crooned.

I tilted my head to look up at him. "Maybe."

"Aww, don't tease me." He squeezed my middle. "I know how much you love me."

"And how much do I love you?"

"All the way from here to infinity, and back." He smiled.

"Infinity's a long ways away Mr. Dallas."

"Well, that's how much I love you."

"I love you from here to forever and one step." I turned my head back around and rested it on his chest.

"I know we're going to get our happily ever after, but we haven't really discussed what that entails." Cameron rubbed his thumb over my ring.

"Well, I say we get married, move out to the country, build our dream house and raise six beautiful kids."

Cameron squeezed my hand gently. "I think I like the sound of that."

I turned back around to face him. I kissed him lightly on the cheek. "We should probably leave, we can't exactly be late."

"True." He paused. "Are you ready?"

"I guess I don't really have a choice." "The trial is going to happen whether or not I'm ready."

Cameron brushed my hair out of my face. "She can't hurt you anymore, Kate." "If you get nervous, just hold my hand." He caressed my cheek. "I've got you."
