I woke up the next morning wrapped up in Cameron's arms on the couch. I remember cuddling with him last night. I'm pretty certain this shed doesn't have heating and the night got pretty cold. There also wasn't any blankets or pillows in sight.
I pulled his arms off of me and crawled off of the couch. Or should I say tried to crawl off of the couch. What actually happened is I tripped and fell flat on my butt on the hardwood floor. If the sound of me falling wasn't enough to wake Cameron up, the string of swears that came from my mouth afterwards probably was.
Sure enough he sat up and rubbed his eyes. He looked down at me sitting on the floor and laughed for a second. "Are you ok?"
I glared up at him and stood up. "Yes." "I'm ok." I rubbed my buttcheek. "I sure hope that doesn't bruise." I looked down at my party dress. "I hope they give us a change of clothes at least." "This dress is not the most comfortable article of clothing I've ever been in."
Cameron nodded and pulled on his dress shirt. "Tell me about it." He started to unbutton his shirt. He looked up at me. "I hope you don't mind."
I laughed. "I slept in your arms last night." "If I minded, you would know." I half-smiled. "Besides." I looked around the small living area. "I have a feeling we're going to be getting pretty close whether we like it or not."
Cameron ran his hand through his hair. "Yeah, I'd say."
I started walking around the living area, trying to acquaint myself with every square inch of it. There was a couch, and a mini fridge, an oven and a microwave. There was a small desk and a chair. There was a cabinet with six drawers. I pulled the top one out.
"Awww yiss!" "Clothes!"
Cameron came running over. He grabbed the first shirt off of the top. He held it up to himself. "Weird, it's my size." He looked at me puzzled. "Why do I feel like this wasn't a random kidnapping?"
I rolled my eyes. "Seriously, Cam?" "We're in a custom built prison!" "Of course this wasn't random." I looked at the floor. "Well at least your kidnapping wasn't random."
Cameron placed his hand on my shoulder. "I'm sorry if I at all pulled you into this." "I never thought for a second that by hanging out with you in that lounge that we would end up here."
I pulled the next shirt out of the drawer. "Hmmm." I sifted through the whole drawer. "All of these clothes are your size."
"Take one of the shirts, Kate."
"They're for you, though." I protested.
"Kate, you need clothes."
"Ok." I pulled a soft cotton shirt and a pair of gray sweatpants out of the drawer. I turned around. "Here's a pair of pants." I threw the pants to him.
He unbuckled his belt. "Hope you still don't mind." Cameron said sheepishly.
I shrugged. "It's whatever." "I'm going to go see if those doors open." I pointed to the two doors at the back of the living space.
I grabbed the first door knob and turned. Sure enough the door was unlocked. I opened the door and stepped inside the room. I fumbled along the wall for a light switch. I found the switch and the lights came on.
"Hey, Cameron, I found the bathroom!" I yelled over my shoulder.
Cameron poked his head in the door. "Cool." "I actually need to take a piss."
"Wow." "Well, I'll let you get on with your business." "I'm gonna try the other door."
I stepped back out of the bathroom and head further down the wall to the second door. I grabbed the knob and turned. The second door was also unlocked. I pushed open the door and took a step inside. I searched for a light switch. When I found it I flicked the lights on.
The second room was a bedroom. Only problem, there was only one queen size bed. I walked around the room. It was pretty, the walls were pale coral and the floor was plush carpet. I ran my hand along the bed, the comforter was cyan with white stars. There were two night stands. I opened the drawer on the right stand. It was empty. I walked around the bed and tried the other one. A photo album was the only thing inside. I picked it up and felt the leather cover. I opened it. All of the pages were empty. I flipped to the back cover and on it, in gold permanent marker were the words: Cam + Hannah True Love.
I heard Cameron turn the door knob. I yelled. "I'm changing!"
"Oh, ok!" "Well let me know when you're ready." Cameron yelled through the door.
I shut the night stand drawer quietly and opened the closet door. I stashed the album behind some blankets on the top shelf. I quickly took my dress off and put on the shirt.
I looked down at my mostly bare legs. "It's a little short."
"I'm ready, Cameron!' "You can come in!"
The door opened and Cameron walked in. "Wow, it's pretty nice in here." He looked at me. "This is definitely an upgrade from the couch." "Sleeping will probably be a lot more comfortable." He laughed cautiously.
"Cameron, I think Hannah's obsessed with you and she kidnapped you because she thinks she's in love with you and now I'm scared what she's going to do to me!" I blurted.
Cameron looked shocked. "What are you talking about?"
I took a deep breath. "I found an album." "A photo album." "But it's empty, and in the back cover..." "You know what, I'll just show you." I pulled the album out of the closet.
I turned back around. "You better not have looked at my butt."
Cameron laughed. "I wouldn't dare." He paused. "But I will say that I never pitted you to be one to have a tattoo on her buttcheek."
I blushed. "Whatever." "I bet you have a tattoo somewhere that you got because you were stupid one night."
Cameron wrapped his arm around my waist. "Maybe, or maybe not." He teased.
I held up the album. "This is what I was talking about."
He grabbed it and looked at the back cover. He ran his hand through his hair. "This stuff always gets on my nerves."
"What the obsessive crazy girls?"
"Yes." "But believe me, I never thought I would get kidnapped by one."
We both jumped. Someone was unlocking the front door.
Cameron pulled away from me and held his arm out. "Stay here." He left and shut the door behind him.
"WHERE IS SHE CAMERON???" Hannah screamed from the living area. "I KNOW YOU GUYS SLEPT ON THE COUCH TOGETHER LAST NIGHT!"
I looked around the bedroom frantically trying to find a camera. I found it in the corner of the wall, it was small, maybe the size of a golf ball.
I jumped as someone slammed against the door.
"CAMERON LET ME IN THE ROOM!" "I KNOW SHE'S HIDING IN THERE!"
Suddenly the door was yanked open to reveal a frazzled looking Hannah and a startled Cameron.
"YOU, YOU THOUGHT YOU COULD STEAL MY CAMERON!" "WELL GUESS WHAT?" "THIS IS THE HOUSE I BUILT FOR ME AND CAMERON AND IT GOES BY MY RULES!" "RULE ONE: YOU DON'T SLEEP IN THE SAME ROOM AS CAMERON." She relaxed. Her desperate look was replaced with one far more sinister.
"But since you've already broken that rule, I have decided Cam is spending the day in the main house with me, and you are going to not get any food today." She flashed an evil smile and walked out of the room. "Dad, get Cameron."
I ran out of the room and grabbed Cameron's arm, but he was whisked away from me and his hands were quickly tied behind his back.
I watched as he was led out of the shed and the door was shut and locked behind them.
I collapsed to the floor and began to sob. I pounded the floor with my fists and tried to keep breathing. Eventually I slipped out of consciousness.
