"I need an opinion." Hannah held two white dresses in front of me. "Something, anything."

"I don't know Hannah, it's not my wedding." "This is your dream and I think your heart already knows what you want." I shrugged and held up a pair of silver heels. "However, whichever dress you decide on you should definitely wear these."

She nodded and threw the dresses down on the couch. "Yeah." "I really like them, but what do you think Cam will think?"

"I think he'll love it no matter what you choose." I said through my teeth. I struggled to maintain a fake smile. I really needed the pajamas she had brought and the nail polish was a good bonus. She had brought three bottles of pastel nail polish, and I was in love. I was a huge fan of all things beauty and I had missed being able to paint my nails.

"I hope you're right." "I don't know, he just seemed so hesitant to get engaged." "He still thinks he loves you, but I know you don't love him." She smiled sweetly at me and held her hands out. I took her hands and she pulled me up off of the couch. "Right, bestie?"

I hugged her. "Of course." "It's against Girl Code to try to go for your bestie's man." I giggled artificially.

"I'm so glad we've gotten so close." She hugged me again. "I haven't had a real bestie in so long."

"Well, you're an amazing person and you have the man of your dreams." "You should be overjoyed."

"I am!" She fell onto the couch in a fit of giggles. "I am so happy, Kate!" "I'm finally getting my dream."

She held the lace dress in front of herself. "I think I'm going to go with this one with the silver glitter pumps." She slid her sandals off and slid on the heels. She stood up and modelled them for me.

I held up both thumbs. "Amazing." "You're going to blow him away."

"I just can't believe it's only a month away." "In a month I'm going to be married to my dream guy!" She wobbled on her heels.

I reached out and steadied her. "You might want to get some practice walking in these though." "Six inch heels can be tricky."

She nodded. "Definitely." She put her hands on her hips. "I'm just glad you're going to finally meet my aunt." Hannah sat down on the edge of the couch to take off the heels. "She raised me for most of my childhood." "She's really important to me." Hannah rubbed my shoulder. "And now she gets to meet the love of my life and my best friend!"

I smiled. "I'm so excited to meet her."

Hannah gathered up the dresses and the shoes. "Well, I need to get back to Cam." "Thank you so much for this, I really needed some fashion advice."

"I am more than happy to help you." I walked her to the door.

She closed and locked the door behind her.

I let out a sigh of relief. I sunk to the floor and sat there for a minute. I was losing Cameron. He promised me that this meant nothing and that he'd find a way out of this, but could he really? I felt so conflicted. Hannah was so nice to me, I felt happy looking at dresses and flowers with her. But I knew that Cameron was not willingly marrying her. Was it wrong for me to feel happy in this situation? Was it wrong to enjoy spending time with Hannah? I wanted to hate her for what she was doing to Cam, but the truth is, I was having fun. Plus not being starved and beaten didn't hurt.

I knew in a part of me that she was still manipulating me and still controlling me. But the majority of me just wanted to enjoy life as much as I could. I had learned by this point that sometimes you had to just ride the roller-coaster and let life sort itself out.
