Two weeks passed and there was no news. The police didn't really bite on the lead. They cited the marriage license as evidence that Cameron was doing what he wanted. They claimed there was no way that a captor would be that public about what they were doing and even if they had they wouldn't be able to forge a witness signature. They didn't seem to buy the idea that the witness was also a captive of the person who filed for that marriage.

For two weeks I waited. I sat and listened to my CDs on a loop. Soon I could recite every word from every song from both of the Shawn Mendes CDs and the Jacob Whitesides CD and the Niall Horan CD. Music was how I distracted myself from what seemed like the inevitable. Every day that passed I lost more and more of what hope I had left that I would ever be found. It had now been seven months.

I stood there listening to Illuminate staring at the July calendar. I couldn't wrap my mind around it. So much must have happened out in the world since I was in that club. My brother's birthday had just passed. In a month my other brother would be starting eighth grade. When would I see them next?

I had ample food, but for reasons I couldn't understand I no longer felt like eating. I just sat there on the couch listening to my music and drowning out reality.

How could no one be looking for me? Was I really the kind of person who'd just run away? Who did the public even think I was?

The only thing I did during the day other than listen to my music was read Cameron's letters. But those only came every three days so the other days were mostly just staring at the walls.

I started drawing flowers up the door frame of the bedroom door. First just blue flowers with one of the pens I had for my journal. But after a few days a whole rainbow meadow had appeared on the white door frame.

I was in many ways going insane. I had no Cameron, the world thought I was a runaway and we were in the Middle of Nowhere, Nevada. My faith was running thin and I was going stir crazy not having anyone to talk to.

I laid there under my comforter, staring up at the ceiling. Suddenly my music stopped. I picked up my CD player and tried to find the problem. I determined the batteries were dead. Great, now I had to wait and see if I could get new batteries. Hannah's dad wouldn't be back for another two days and then I'd have to wait three days after that for new batteries. Five days without music to numb the pain.

I rolled on my side and set the CD player on the nightstand. I laid there and slowly drifted into sleep.

I rolled over. I felt Cameron's arm drape over my waist.

"Hey, beautiful." He said smoothly.

"Hey, love." I smiled.

His hand moved from my waist to brush the hair out of my face. His had returned to my waist and he pulled me into his chest.

I buried my face in his neck. I planted light kisses up his neck in a line to his lips.

Our eyes locked and we laid there just swimming in each other's eyes. I felt my soul get lost in his bright brown eyes. His long lashes fluttered. This was love.

He put his hands around my face and pulled me into a kiss. It started light, but grew deeper and deeper. Passion overflowed as we lay there, completely lost in each other. His warm, soft lips pressed against my and the world disappeared.

We finally came up for air and he laughed breathlessly. His warm breath tickled my nose.

I buried my face in his neck again and just laid there, breathing in his scent. I didn't want this moment to pass. He wrapped his arms around my waist and we laid there, embracing.

I pulled away from his neck and met his eyes. I drug my fingers down his bare chest. I traced every muscle on his abdomen.

I wrapped my arms his neck and kissed his neck deeply. He let out a little moan.

I pulled away and ran my hand down his arm. I took his hand and held it. I held it up and tapped the ring finger. "Can you imagine a ring on your finger?"

"I can't imagine anything else." He bit his lip sensually.

With his other hand his brushed my hair back, exposing my neck. He buried his hand in my hair and kissed my neck.

He pulled back and locked eyes with me. "Truth is, Kate, I couldn't imagine a day without you." He kissed me lightly on the nose.

I yawned and rolled over. I pressed my back against his smooth, bare chest and fell asleep in his arms.
