"Morning beautiful."

"Hannah, I didn't even sleep in the same room as him last night." I slowly opened my eyes.

Cameron laughed from the kitchen. "Still me, Kate."

I sat up on the couch. "How early did you wake up, Cam?" I rubbed my eyes and stood up.

"I guess earlier than Hannah."

I walked over to him and kissed him on the cheek. "Yeah this is weird." "I wonder why she hasn't come to get you yet."

I grabbed a cup from the cabinet. I opened the fridge and pulled out the bottle of grape juice. I filled it and closed the fridge with my hip.

"I wonder if something's up."

Cameron rubbed his chin for a minute. "Oh my god Kate!"

"What Cam?"

"It's the one month anniversary of us being here." "I just realized because I remember seeing the date on the TV yesterday and thinking that it's nearly Valentine's Day."

"Well let's hope she's in the mood for good celebrations and not lock Kate up and cuddle up with Cameron on the couch and make him watch 50 Shades of Gray for the." I held up three fingers. "Third time?"

Cameron held up four. "Fourth." "We watched it again three days ago."

I laughed and put my glass in the sink. "So, since you're still here, what would you like for breakfast?"

"Mmmmm." "What do you have?"

I opened the fridge. "Eggs, a bit of bacon." "Some bread if you want toast." I opened the freezer. I pulled out a box of blueberry Eggos. "And I was saving these for an important morning."

Cameron took the box of Eggos. "Well I think one month is a significant enough of a day to eat these."

I smiled. "I agree." I plugged in the toaster.

We sat at the table eating our waffles and talking about what we thought our friends were up to. We agreed they were probably still looking for us, but we also imagined what kind of plans they might have for Valentine's Day.

"I'm telling you she is going to go all out." "He man really loves her and I think if any guy was going to get his girlfriend one of those giant stuffed animals, it would be him." I laughed. "Ugh, I miss home so much."

Cameron smiled. "Where will home be when this is all over?"

"Assuming we get rescued together?"

"Yes, because that's the outcome I'm praying for." Cameron held my hand on the table.

"Well than probably wherever you are." "At this point I would want to be with the one person who understands what I went through."

"At this point?" "You could change your mind?"

I stuck my tongue out playfully. "I want to be with you, but my family may have other ideas." I shrugged. "I mean, they didn't even know I flew to California to discuss publishing my book with a different publisher than the one I told my mom I would be publishing with."

Just then we heard the locks clicking. I quickly grabbed the plates off of the table and ran over to the sink so I wasn't near Cameron.

Hannah sauntered in wearing a ridiculous red dress and pointy white stilettos. Her hair was curled and hair sprayed in place. I winced as her heels clicked on the hardwood floor.

She walked up to me. "Well don't you look like a disaster."

I gritted my teeth. "Leave me alone Hannah." "Not everyone has access to a wardrobe full of clothes."

"Oh, feisty today?" "Just mad that you won't be spending this special day with Cam?" She smiled, her white teeth contrasting against her dark red lips. "Well guess what sweetie." "The only anniversary of living with Cam that matters is mine." She giggled. She turned back around to look at her dad. "Tie up Cam." "I'll take him to the house by myself today." She batted her eyelashes. "You're in charge of taking this one." She glared at me. "To get food." She pulled an envelope out of her purse. She leaned in to whisper in my ear. "Don't think I don't know what you did to the cameras." She sneered. She handed me the envelope.

I opened it. There was a $20 dollar bill inside. I sighed in relief. At least she didn't dock my food money.

I returned to the shed with a bag of food. I emptied its contents on the dining room table and began putting things away. I had gotten a bottle of sparkling juice for me and Cameron to share that night when he got back. I set it on the counter and just admired it for a few seconds.

I took a breath and returned to my daily activities. Sweeping, since Hannah had given me a broom. I took a quick shower with the flowery shampoo I had gotten last week when Hannah had added toiletries to the grocery store.

I wore my favorite shirt from the drawer and my favorite pair of leggings. I looked at my outfit in the mirror.

I frowned. "These really don't match." I shrugged. "Oh well." "There's only one person who ever really sees me and I'm sure he won't mind."

I spent the rest of the day casually passing time. I took a short nap and finished that coloring page of a tiger. I colored the tiger orange.

But day turned into night and Cameron didn't come back to the shed. I sat there patiently on the couch, watching the door but no one came. I didn't have any way to check the time but I knew it had to be getting late.
