I stretched and opened my eyes slowly as they acclimated to the bright sunlight pouring in through the window.
I rolled over on the couch. Cam had brought me out his pillow. I usually slept without one ever since Hannah had been weird about 'her and Cam's bed'.
I dangled my arm over the edge of the couch. I glided my fingertips along the grooves in the hardwood. It was pretty nice flooring, I chuckled under my breath about the dream I had had a few days prior. Maybe Cam and I can put similar dark wood flooring in our house.
"Who am I kidding?" "He's Cameron Dallas." "When this is over he'll have thousands of girls pouring over him." "I'll probably end up back in Maryland or back home in Delaware." I sat there on the couch staring at the pale yellow walls. I shrugged and stood up.
I walked over to the kitchen and opened the fridge before I remembered Crazy Hannah had stolen all of my food.
"Weird." "It's quiet..." I said to myself quietly. I started walking back to the bedroom. I stopped at the door and knocked quietly a few times. "Cam!" I whispered through the wood. "Cam, are you still in there?"
The door swung in. Cameron wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "Miss me already?"
"What are you still doing here?" I walked in and sat on the bed.
"What are you trying to get rid of me?" He laughed.
"No, it's just weird." "Hannah almost seems to be not spending as much time with you."
"Well, I know we're not talking about what goes on in the main house, but..." He sat down on the bed next to me. "I think she's plotting something." "She's been pressing pretty hard for me to kiss her lately."
My mouth dropped. "Why, am I not surprised?"
Cameron ran his finger along my jaw. "Hey look at me."
I looked into his eyes. "I keep pushing her away." "Ok?" "I wouldn't do that to you."
Maybe he does actually love me. I relaxed. I really loved him, but I still worried about how he'd be when, or if, we got rescued. I sat there looking into his bright brown eyes. They were like a cup of cold iced coffee. You could get lost in them if you weren't careful.
Cameron stood up and rubbed my thighs. "Look, I love you." "Hannah, she's crazy and I would never even think of kissing her." "Nothing could change that."
I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Ok, I believe you."
Our brown eyes locked for a minute and time slowed. In that moment we grew wings and flew far away from the shed we were confined to. We flew away from all of the problems holding us down.
I sat there for a moment dreaming up our happy ending. Dreaming up our love story. A love story that didn't begin like this.
I turned my head in a jolt as I heard someone begin to unlock the door. I jumped off the bed and shoved Cameron out of my way. I ran towards the living room and picked up the bright coral pillow up off of the couch and threw it to Cameron who came running out after me.
"Hey!" He caught the pillow out of the air.
"Put that back on the bed!" I screamed through my teeth.
Just as he walked back into the bedroom Hannah opened the front door. "Cam Bear!" "Cam, where are you?" Hannah shoved me out of her way as she walked back to the bedroom.
"Oh, I'm here Hannah!" Cameron said popping his head out of the bedroom door. He waved.
Hannah rolled her eyes. "What exactly were you doing Cam?"
"Oh, just making the bed." "I didn't want it to be a mess when you got here."
She batted her eyelashes and playfully smacked his chest. "Oh, you're the perfect boyfriend." She shot a glare at me.
"If looks could kill." I whispered under my breath.
Hannah grabbed Cameron's hand and began walking towards the front door. "Go with my dad and I'll be in the house as soon as this one." "She glared at me again. "Gets her food."
Cameron's hands were tied and Hannah's dad started leading him towards the house.
"You're not going to tie me up?" "Wow, one might even say you're getting used to having me around."
Hannah swiftly kicked me in the knee.
I collapsed to the ground. She continued to kick me for a minute. I felt a rib crack.
"Hannah, stop!" I grabbed her ankle between kicks. I pulled her door on her butt. "I said stop." I said through my teeth, holding my side.
"Awww." "Look, you're hurt." "Maybe with all those bruises, Cam won't like you so much." She stood up and grabbed my arm. "Stand up." "We're going to get you food."
