Mila looked at the time on her watch and sighed. She looked around her seeing some of the looks others were giving her. Looks of sympathy and embarrassment for her which just fueled the growing impatience and annoyance within her. Most of those people had been there since she arrived at the restaurant. Which was the place Mike had asked her to meet him at earlier today saying that he would be done with rehearsal and could meet. She arrived at the time he mentioned which was forty-five minutes ago and he was still nowhere to be seen. After a couple of texts and calls that went unanswered she decided to call it quits on waiting. Thankfully she had only gotten a glass of water while she waited so she didn't have to spend any money on what was suppose to be a date night. He was at rehearsal and she knew it meant he was busy but she couldn't help but feel annoyed that he didn't send her a courtesy text telling her he was running late. Mila understood that it was important for them to get their set as tight as it could be but she also felt that a heads up would have been nice. As she pulled into her driveway her phone began to ring. Looking at the caller ID she was tempted to just ignore it because she didn't want to get into it but in the end, she answered.
"Hello?"
"Cams, I am so sorry. I don't get service in the rehearsal space and didn't get your messages or calls till I walked out. Time got away from us," Mike said hearing the beeping from her car and he knew she wasn't at the restaurant any longer. "Fuck. Camila I feel like the biggest asshole."
Mila sighed unlocking the door to the house. She could hear it in his voice that he was upset at himself and it made it harder for her to stay annoyed. Now she was just tired and wanting to get ready for bed. "It's fine. Cell phones suck with service in certain places. I have that issues when I go to some of my clients homes."
"Can I still see you?"
"I don't know, Mike. It's late and I have work tomorrow," She replied walking into her room collapsing onto her bed. "That's one of the reasons we were meeting up. Maybe tomorrow?"
Mike sighed feeling his body get hot with the anger he felt towards himself. "I have rehearsal tomorrow too. Which means the next time we can see each other is the day before I leave."
She knew he was upset and she fought to keep her emotions at bay hearing that within two days he would be gone for what would be almost two months. "We will make it work. Will you call me when you get home?"
Mike agreed and told her he was sorry again along with that he loved her getting the sentiment returned. He could tell she was disappointed and he didn't blame her, he would be too. Hanging up the phone, he headed back inside to grab his stuff moving past his friends as he did so. They watched as he shoved his towel and hoodie he had come in with into his backpack roughly. If his actions didn't scream 'anger' then the red tinge in his face definitely did. The guys looked between each other confused. He had only been outside for less than five minutes.
"Dude, you Alright?" Mike heard Dave ask him. He shook his head taking in a couple of deep breaths trying to calm the emotions he was feeling towards himself. He fucked up and he knew this. He is the one who asked her to go to dinner and to meet him there. They hadn't seen each other in a couple of days and Mike wanted to get in as much time with her as he could before he left. Now that plan was shot to shit. "What's wrong?"
"I fucked up. That's what's wrong," Mike said rubbing his face with his hands groaning as he did so. Silently, the others pointed at each other for who should ask for more information.
"Care to elaborate?" Brad asked with a roll of his eyes towards the others as he turned watching as the man who was angry take a seat on the couch in the room they were in.
