(A/N- Holy jesus, Chapter 40 already! Also, HAPPY POST TRAUMATIC RELEASE DAY! I am in love with it. Hopefully my CD and Art book will be at my house tomorrow. Until then Spotify has been my go to.)
Mila was surprised going back to work on the Tuesday following her leaving tour how much paperwork she didn't come home to. When asked about it, Lucy just smiled and welcomed her home. It was then that Mila realized that Lucy had probably pulled anything in her mailbox and read through it before signing it. As the Supervisor, she had every right to do so and Mila found herself being thankful for it.
"So where'd you go?" A voice asked from the doorway to her office. Mila held in the groan she wanted to release at just the sound of his voice.
"On vacation," She shrugged looking over the notices and schedule left in her mailbox.
"But where? You were gone for two weeks. I think I am entitled to know," Geoffrey stated leaning against the frame.
Mila turned raising her brow at him. "No, you're not. You're not my clients nor my Supervisor so you don't have to know where I went."
Geoffrey narrowed his eyes at her just a bit. "You went to visit your boyfriend, didn't you?"
"Again, you don't need to know where I went. I also believe that I don't have a mentoring session with you until tomorrow. So if you can leave me alone so I can read over what I missed and also check my messages, I would appreciate it," She replied back sending him the same look and tone she often sent her younger clients when they would try to misbehave during sessions. Mila was a nice person and after years of experience with what happens sometimes to nice people, she knew how to handle it. Taking people's bullshit was something that she didn't do anymore, especially from entitled co-workers.
Eye contact between the two was held until he backed down storming away from her office in such a manner that could rival any toddlers. Once he was gone, probably in his own office down the hall, Mila released the groan she had been holding in.
"Whoa now, that is something you shouldn't be doing after two weeks off," Jecca said entering her office smirking. Mila sent her an annoyed look which wiped the smirk from her lips. Unlike with Jecca where Mila wasn't afraid of her looks, Jecca was always nervous when Mila sent them to her. Perhaps it was the fact that Mila was rarely anything but happy that made them a bit more intense. "What's wrong?"
"Geoffrey asking me where I went and acting like an entitled brat, is what's wrong," She replied closing her door hard. "He legit came here and told me he has a right to know then practically glared at me when he asked if I went to 'go see my boyfriend'. I don't know who the fuck he thinks he is, but I swear I'll go Spanish mom on him."
"You going to hit him with a chancla? Please let me be around to see that."
"Bueno para nada coño," Mila replied shaking her head. "That's what he is."
"Kitty Mila is alive and well I see," Jecca stated leaning back in the chair she was in. "Maybe you need to tell Lucy what's been going on and that you can't be the one to mentor him."
"I've never turned down a client or a mentoring case," She said shaking her head. "Not to mention they just had to put into place extra precautions for me. I don't think this would be the right time to tell them I can't do something."
"But it's different if he is becoming territorial or making you uncomfortable," Jecca countered sending her a look. Jecca knew her friend and she knew her well. If Mila felt like it was a burden to others after them doing something else for her, she would just push through and not care. Mila was smart, Jecca would never say she wasn't, but she definitely struggled with feeling like a burden. "Just promise me if he gets crazy you will tell Lucy. If not just for you then for all of us women here."
