(A/N- Some important things get discussed in this chapter. Hope everyone has a good weekend! and hello, Mika!)
Mila knocked on the door to the office of her best female friend, Jecca, who turned and looked at her feigning shock and surprise. Rolling her eyes, she took a seat next to her with her notepad in her lap.
"Well, Miss. Mils, I haven't seen you in forever. What do I owe this pleasure?" Jecca asked smirking at the woman next to her. Mila knew that look well. Jecca and her met in high school around the time that Mike and Mila had started dating all because, at the time, Jecca had begun to hang around Rob. Jecca and Rob are a couple of years younger than the others and had met in one of their mutual classes. Mila liked Jecca and enjoyed having another female in the group. Growing up, Jecca was the one female best friend she had in California.
"I know, I know. I'm a horrible best friend. Let me have it," Mila sighed rolling her eyes.
Jecca shook her head laughing. "I'm just messing with you. Although I do miss you but that's not what you came in here for. What's up?"
"I'm going to be away Friday through Tuesday of next week and need a clinician who can take on calls for my high risk clients," Mila replied showing her the list of three clients. Jecca reviewed the list and why they were considered high risk. She wasn't really surprised to see normal considerations such as suicide risk, self-harm and aggression on each client.
"I'll take them," She nodded taking the list from her. "I have a couple of closings next week so if needed I can schedule emergency meetings. Just make sure you turn your damn phone off." She sent Mila a knowing looking earning a nod in response. "Where are you going?"
"Well," Mila began pushing her hair behind her ear. "I should probably catch you up on where I have been." Jecca rolled her eyes nodding. "The guys were back from tour over the holidays."
"I know. I saw Rob," Jecca replied waving her hand for her friend to continue. Mila sent her a questioning look. "Don't give me that. We're still friends. Just friends who dated for a year in high school. You're stalling, Acosta."
"Mike mentioned wanting to be with me again while he was home," Mila told her seeing the wide eyed look that took over the woman's face as her arm reached out closing the door to her office.
"Let me confirm this. Shinoda, your ex, asked to be with you again?" Her friend asked getting a nod. "Wow, Okay. Go on."
"I thought it over. Talked to my mom and the guys about it. In the end though, I still love him," Mila said as Jecca nodded in understanding. "So we got back together and I'm going to go surprise him at the end of this week for his last couple of tour dates."
Jecca looked at her surprised as she leaned back in her chair. A part of her always knew they would end up getting back together at some point. They just always made sense and was an amazing couple. When Mike broke up with Mila she was surprised and for a while she hated him for it. Over the years, Mila has gotten her to calm down and not be so angry about something that didn't involve her. Jecca knew Mila still loved Mike and whenever Mike was around, it was obvious that the reverse was also true. "How long have you guys been back together? How is it going? Are you okay with him being gone all the time?"
Mila laughed. "Slow down, Jec. God, having another therapist as one of your best friends is annoying. Do I ask that many rapid fire questions?" Jecca shot her a pointed look. "We've been together for a month as of like three weeks ago. It's going great so far. Granted we were only together for a week officially before he left, but I've talked to him everyday since he's been on tour. As for if I am fine with him being gone all the time, I mean it sucks but I knew it going into this. He's always supportive to me and my goals so why shouldn't I be the same for him?"
