December Twenty-Seventh Two Thousand And Five
Shit had hit the fan. It had hit it and broken it into a million pieces. For a while after returning from their honeymoon it was fine. Mila has gone back to work being greeted by a small pile of paperwork and many congratulations from clients and co-workers. Mike began rehearsal for the Promo Tour that was planned starting at the end of October. Everything seemed to be going well and the pair were happy to continue their everyday life as a married couple. But after the twenty-ninth of October, which was Mike's first show following the wedding, everything back home changed for Mila.
It didn't take long for the news of Mike being married to hit the LPU forum. A whole new thread had been started in fact. The 'Mike Shinoda is not single' thread was retired and a new one, 'Holy shit Mike is now married!', had begun. The only thing to carry over from the old thread was Mila's name and where she worked. After the previous events, the agency she worked for had put into place restrictions for such events and it had worked well. Eventually, people stopped calling and requesting her making everything easy again for her co-workers. However, after the news of Mike being married broke onto the internet it began all over again. This time though, fans began going to the office building asking to see her or waiting outside. It made Mila nervous the first time security had told her what was happening and that before it got worse, she should go home to ensure she stayed safe. When she was walked to her car by said security and passed the group standing on the street when leaving the hidden parking lot, she knew nothing was the same.
The agency attempted to keep the same restrictions into place this time around, but due to the fans now showing up at the building, everything was escalated. Not only were people being seen walking in and out of the place, but some were stopped asking if they knew Mila. Some of the people who had been stopped were clients of Mila's which meant now a boundary had been crossed. It didn't matter how many redirections she gave, some would stay on the subject of her 'famous husband' causing her to have to transfer them. Between that and having to leave earlier than usual on multiple days, her hours were down drastically. By the end of November, Mila had decided to just save everyone time and energy and go down to part-time.
Mila was well aware that Mike felt horrible for what had happened and offered to try to remedy everything so she didn't have to cut hours, but no one exactly knew how to fix it. He had put a post on his MySpace asking people to not go to his wife's work once she had to leave early the first time and obviously some were just not listening. Mila didn't want it to get to the point of a safety issue for anyone, co-workers or clients, and felt part-time was better than nothing at all.
It was crazy how things can change in a matter of weeks. Never once did she imagine this happening, but it had and now she had more free time on her hands. The other LP wives had taken her under their wings during this time and made sure that Mila felt supported. She was thankful for them and everything that they did for her especially while Mike was away. There wasn't ever a time where she was left alone for long to be stuck in her thoughts. If she wasn't working then one of them would be there.
Mike's album had been released on the twenty-second of November and had gotten many amazing reviews from critics. It was obvious upon talking to him following the release date, that he was surprised and in shock by how many critics loved the album. After getting a lot of mixed reviews following the release of Meteora, not to mention it being just him, he was amazed at the positive words and rating that Rising Tied has received. The day it had been released, he was still in New York following an interview and performance the day prior at FuseTV. Mila was bummed that she couldn't be by his side during this time and honestly felt like she let him down by being in California to just work part-time.
