Mila smiled looking at what was going on around her.  The happiness and excitement that was circulating around the outdoor area she was in was the same that had been in the air for a while now.

Following Mila resigning from her position as a therapist, she allowed herself a couple of weeks to get through the sadness that came from making such a big decision.  It wasn't easy for her to leave her job.  A job that meant so much to her.  For those couple of weeks, she honestly debated if she made the right decision, but when meeting with the group helping run Music for Relief it was obvious that she had.  This position she held now was completely different than what Mila was used to.  There was no longer sitting in a room for an hour or more talking about events that's happened and processing them.  Now it was problem solving and discussing what could happen to individuals who go through a horrific tragedy like a natural disaster.  It was looking from a small picture to the larger view and assessing each tiny area.  Educating everyone who were there on trauma and how it presents and when needed, grief.  There was a lot of work that went into what she did.  A lot of meetings and conversations along with checking in with more experienced therapists and psychiatrists that Mila's met along the way to confirm all information presented.  And Mila loved every minute of it.

Another big change, for technically both Mike and Mila, came just a couple of weeks ago during the 2006 Grammys.  Now that Mila was in a different area of work, one that didn't rely on boundaries or keeping away from possible camera's, when asked to be his date to the awards Mila could finally tell him 'yes' with no hesitation.  To say it was a bit of an eye opening experience for her would be an understatement.

Mila stood next to Mike holding his hand tightly in hers.  She was nervous.  This was the first ever red carpet she would go down with him where she would allow pictures to be taken of her.  She was thankful that Lucy, who had stayed a big part of her life even after leaving the  agency, had sent her a text telling her to not even think of backing out and to walk the carpet with her husband.  So here she was, standing next to him nervously waiting for their cue to walk down the carpet with the other guys and their ladies.

Mila took a minute making sure her dress wasn't showing too much even though the neck line was a bit plunging.  The last thing she needed to happen was a breast falling out on the first time ever walking down this obscenely long carpet.

"You look beautiful, baby," Mike's voice told her in her ear.  Mila looked at him and he could see her nerves through her eyes if not by her hand that was holding on for dear life.  "I'm with you.  Nothing is going to happen.  I got you."

"Always?"

He smiled pressing his lips to hers.  "Always and forever."

The cue came seconds later leading them to walk down the red carpet.  They stopped for a moment in front of photographers where Mike wrapped his arm proudly around his wife smiling at the cameras.  He took a second to look at her who stood just a bit taller thanks to her heels, wanting to make sure she was okay regardless of where they were, to find her also smiling.  As if feeling his gaze on her, she looked up at him smiling which had also been caught by the cameras.  After a few steps the guys were asked to have photos without the women which Mila was thankful for because her face began to hurt from smiling.  Mike gave her hand one last squeeze as Nikki walked alongside her to the end of the carpet.
