I am tirelessly pacing back and forth in my room now for I am creating a flawless scenario in my mind right now.
Bakit ko nga ba ginagawa ito ngayon? Oh yeah right, my great parents are here, to my immense disappointment. Kaya ayan, nag-iisip ako ng paraan para maka-iwas sa mga magulang ko.
Wait, why am I even bothering myself to create seamless stories? It is as if my parents would really be interested to where I'll be going.
Yeah right, I'll just sneak out of the house. I might go wandering in the park or elsewhere, basta huwag lang akong manatili sa bahay na iyon.
Nag-suot na lang ako ng hoodie jacket bago tuluyang lumabas ng aking kwarto.
I stealthily walked my way towards the main door. It was very challenging since all our househelps are still up even if it is too late.
I was about to go down our staircase when I heard two arguing voices from my mother's office room. I got curioused since this is the first time that they tried to muffle their arguments.
Para lalo kong marinig ang pinag-uusapan nila, dahan dahan kong binuksan yung pinto nung office room ng nanay ko.
"Alam mo ang kaya niyang gawin Rhea! Bakit hindi ka pa gumagawa ng hakbang?!" pigil na pigil ang pagka-irita sa boses ng tatay ko.
"Hindi ko alam na matatakutin ka pala." kalmadong sagot ng nanay ko.
Ang pagiging kalmado ng ina ko ang nagpa-irita lalo sa aking ama. "We are about to lose millions, Rhea! We are about to lose the company that my ancestors built and yet you're still calm?!"
"And so? Sa dami ng pera natin sa bangko, we can last up to 5 lifetimes! Also, we can still build a new company. So, stop fretting yourself over the wrong reasons." said casually by my mother.
That's when my father lost his grip over himself. He let out a howl of frustration that might have been heard by the whole house.
Nagpasya na akong itigil yung pakikinig sa usapan nila. Hindi rin naman kasi kaiba sa lagi nilang pinag-aawayan yung pinag-aawayan nila ngayon, puro tungkol lagi sa kumpanya at pagpapayaman.
Pero bago ko pa tuluyang maisara ang pinto, ang mga sumunod nilang pinag-usapan ang nakapagpatigil sa akin.
"I can't believe that you are protecting your damned son at the expense of my company." my father said in distaste and mockery.
I'd like to butt in to their conversation but I remembered that I was just eavesdropping. No can do for me there.
"Our son is not damned, you bastard. At wala akong pakialam kung maghirap tayo kung ang kapalit naman nun ay ang magandang ikinikilos ng anak mo ngayon!" My mom said sternly.
