Chapter 10 part 1

Demi POV

I look at Colton surprised. He looks at the woman.

"I don't have a son." He says.

"Uh... Maybe we should sit down." She says. She walks out and I look at Colton.

"Son?"

"I can assure you I have no idea what she's talking about." I roll my eyes and follow the lady downstairs. We sit down.

"Heather Morris?" She says. I look at Colton and his face expression changes.

"Oh my god..." He says putting his hands in his hands. "We dated like three years ago but she wasn't pregnant." He says.

"Well after she died we..."

"She died?" He says.

"Yeah. She had cancer." He just stares at his hands.

"Her family assumed her current boyfriend was the father but after a paternity test we ruled out that he's not and her family gave me your name. We would be more than happy to do a paternity test if you feel that is necessary." He's quiet for a second.

"That doesn't make any sense. She wouldn't have kept my own kid from me."

"I don't wanna be the one to put this on you... But her family went to court. You need to decide what you wanna do."

"What?" He asks confused.

"If your his father you can either take him in... Or you'll have to go to court and sign away your rights. He is now in a foster home but can't remain there without your consent." He rubs his face.

"How long do I have?" He asks.

"Until the end of the week."

"Okay... How old is he?" She gives us a picture.

"He's two years old. His name is Corey." Colton stares at the picture. I stare at it too. Everything in that kid calls Colton's name... Colton is the father of that little boy.

"I'm gonna go get a drink." I say getting up.

"Demi..." Colton says but I ignore him.
