Chapter 46 part 1-3

Demi POV

I go find Grace in Corey's room. "Where's Kenz?" I ask. She points over to the bouncer with her in it. "So..." I say. "I'm not telling you who Deacon is." "Why not?" I whine. "Because when he wants you to know he'll tell you." "... Gracieeee." I say holding the e. "You know you wanna tell me." She eventually budges. "Deacon is our brother. When Colton was nine he was driving with his friends drunk. He was fifteen. He shouldn't of been driving. He hit another car and people died so he went to jail." "Why didn't Colton tell me that?" "Cause he doesn't have anything to do with him. Colton was nine. He couldn't visit Deacon in jail if he wanted too. Our dad sold every single thing that Deacon had in the house... Except for Rhys, Deacons dog." I think to myself... Colton named my daughter after a dog? "Rhys eventually died and that was the last thing Colton had of Deacon... That's why he hates dogs." I nod. "Is he still in jail?" She shrugs. "I guess." I stand up and get Kenzie. "Don't tell Colton I told you." Grace says. I nod. I run my hands through Corey's hair before walking out. I lay Kenzie in the crib with have in my bedroom before sitting on the bed and just think.

Demi POV

Grace is staying for a couple of days until she flies back to Canada. Colton comes in. "Corey's in bed... Kenzie asleep?" I nod, still spacing out. "Demi..." He moves my head in his direction. "Grace told you?" I nod. "Why didn't you tell me?" "Cause it's not important." "Colton, that's your brother." "No he's not. He's nothing to me now." "Seriously? Family is family no matter what. What my dad did to me... I regret every single day that I shut him out for years despite what he did... Now he's gone. What happens when your brother goes, whenever that may be?" "I don't care." He says. "You should." "Why should I care about the man who killed my mother?" I sit back and stare at him. "What?" I ask. "My mom was in the car that he hit... Grace didn't tell you?" I shake my head no. "Well yeah, he was fifteen... Shouldn't of even been driving much less drunk driving... My whole childhood sucked ass because of him leaving Gracie and I alone with my dad. I loved my dad... But he couldn't do it by himself and he had to because of him... He's nothing to me." Colton says before walking out. He slams the door, waking up Kenzie. I put my hands through my hair before walking over to settle Kenzie.

Colton POV

I go into Corey's room. My beautiful children are the only things that make me feel better at the moment. He's asleep so I just sit with him for a little bit. Before I know it two hours pass. I just sat there thinking. I stand up and walk out. I open the bedroom door a little bit to make sure Demi's asleep. She is. I get my pillow and blanket and start to walk out until I hear a cooing. I look over at the crib and walk over, dropping the pillow and blanket on the bed. I pick up Kenzie and she fusses until she settles in between my arm and chest. I sit on the edge of the bed. I feel Demi rest her chin on my shoulder. "Wanna lay down?" I nod. I put Kenzie back once she falls asleep and lay with Demi in my arms. We just lay in silent until we both fall asleep.

Demi POV

I wake up the next morning exhausted. Kenzie had us up every other hour. Well me up. Colton has work today so I got up most of the time. He got up once or twice. I just lay there trying to go back to sleep but can't so I get up. I walk over to the crib and see Kenz still asleep. I go into the bathroom and get my shower done before she wakes up. Once I'm done getting ready I walk out. Colton's still asleep. I put my glasses on and check on Kenzie. She's still asleep. Why can't she sleep like this at night? I sit down and get on my phone. I see Colton move soon and realize he's awake. He opens his eyes and looks up at me. "Good morning." He says. I smile. "What's up?" "Your making me upset." I say. "Why?" He asks sitting up. "Cause your upset and I don't like to see you upset." "I'm not upset." "Yes your are." He takes my glasses off and kisses my lips. "Trust me... Don't worry about it. Lets enjoy our time with Kenzie and Corey okay? It's Kenzie's first full day home." "Yeah and you have to work." I say taking my glasses back and putting me them. "Well sorry... I don't have a job like yours where I can go when I want..." He says getting off the bed. "Shut up. Your gonna wake Kenz up." Before I finish I hear baby cries. He goes into the bathroom. "Thanks..." I say to myself before picking her up. She starts to scream. I try to change her diaper but it doesn't work so I decide to feed her. Half way through Colton walks out dressed in his work uniform. "I'm going. I'll be home at four." "Okay. Love you." "Love you too." He says with little enthusiasm. I roll my eyes, continuing to feed Makenzie.
