Chapter 41 part 1-3

Demi POV

The doctor comes out and tells me he does have alcohol poisoning and had to get his stomach pumped. He's sleeping now and I'm allowed to go back. Once I get back there I lay Corey on the couch in the room. I grab a chair and move it to the side of his bed. "Your an idiot." I say to him sleeping. I take his hand and give him a kiss on the cheek. "Are you gonna wake up?" He doesn't though. I don't wanna wake him up so I don't. I lean back in the chair and end up dosing off. I wake up to the door speaking as it opens. I sit up and look to see Corey run out. "Corey..." I say running after him. I get him and go back into the room. "You can't do that." I say sitting him down. "But I'm hungry." "Well maybe Dallas will take you out for breakfast." He nods. I call Dallas and she comes and gets Corey. I tell her I'll tell her everything later. She takes him and closes the door. I hear coughs and turn around. His machine starts to beep louder and faster. Before I know i'm back in the waiting room after doctors came in to work on Colton. I sit down in the chair and just pray.

Demi POV

An hour passes and the doctor calls me back. He explains what happened. "Is he okay?" I ask. "For now yes. Were gonna keep him for a couple nights just to make sure." "Is he awake?" He nods. "Thank you." I wait until the doctor turns the corner before opening the door. He looks at me and then looks back at the tv playing on the wall. I sit in the chair by his bed. "Are you gonna look at me?" He doesn't. "Colton..." I say turning his head. He looks at me. "What did you expect to happen if I never came. Corey would of been there by himself." He doesn't say anything. He just looks back at the tv. "Colton c'mon... Talk to me..." He starts to piss me off so I grab the remote and turn the tv off. He looks at me again. "You could of died." "Well I didn't." He says with a scratchy voice from the breathing tube being down his throat earlier. "Did you talk to Grace?" I ask. "No. Not yet." "Do you want me to call her?" He nods. I call Grace and let Colton talk to her. When he hangs up he gives me the phone. He starts to cough again so I get his cup of water. He drinks some of it and then puts it back. "When do I get out of here?" He asks. "A couple days. You keep having seizures." He nods. "You scared the shit out of me." "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to drink that much." "You do realize this is why we broke up the first time..." He stares at me confused. "Your drinking." He nods. "Yeah I know." "I love you Colton. No matter what and what happened tonight literally scared the hell out of me. Promise me you'll never drink that much again." "I promise. Sorry." He says. I nod and give him a kiss on the cheek. "I'm gonna get Corey. Okay?" He nods.

Demi POV

Corey and Colton spend time talking until Corey falls asleep next to Colton in the bed. "Is your throat feeling better?" I ask him. He had the breathing tube down his throat and it's soar. "Yeah a little." He says groggy. "You gotta get your life together." I say bluntly. "Yeah I know." He says. "Last time you did this you lost custody and I really hope that doesn't happen this time cause you will not get it back before I leave on tour and there is no way in hell I can take care of a five year old, a newborn, and work at the same time." "I know Demi." He says getting annoyed. "Don't be getting pissed with me. This is your fault... Everything that has happened..." "I know. It's my fault." He says cutting me off. "No... Everything that has happened should make you realize that you have so much to live for. You have a son, a daughter on the way, a younger sister who has nothing but you... You can't do this to yourself or to them. It's not easy for Corey to see his father in a hospital bed, or to hear how his father talks after having a breathing tube down his throat for hours all because of alcohol and drugs." He nods. "If you did this because of me tell me..." He shakes his head no. "Colton... You left at the doctors and then this happened... What made you so mad that you couldn't bare me long enough to find out the gender of your baby." "I'm not talking about it." "Yes you are... Did I do something?" "No." "Then what is it?" He sighs and tells me what that bitch Hailee said. "You didn't believe her did you?" He shrugs. "Colton... You are nothing like my father... I can't believe she said that to you." I say to myself but he heard it. "I just kept thinking that same sentence back and forth and it got to me. I didn't want to be with you if you see me as your father." "Well I don't. So don't listen to her or anyone else."

He lays his head back on the pillow and looks down at Corey. I can't believe he's gonna five in April." "I know. Good thing is both kids will be born in April... Two birthdays in one." I say jokingly. He laughs. "When's her due date?" "April 15." "That's a long time." He says. I laugh. "It's only five months away." "Only..." He says laying back looking at the ceiling. Then his phone rings. "Can you get that?" I give him his phone and he answers. "Hello? Hi... Yeah..." He smiles. "Thank you... Thank you. Bye..." He hangs and laughs a little. "What?" I ask. "I got a job." He says putting his phone down. "Are you serious?" He nods. "I start in two weeks. It pays minimum wage but it's better than nothing... Once I'm out of college I'm getting a real job..." "Well I'm proud of you." "Thank you. It's a good thing too cause Corey starts kindergarten next year... That shits gonna run up a bill." I laugh a little. "Well... Considering I have half custody of Corey... I hope you know I'm paying for his Kindergarten too." "Bull shit. I'll actually have money." He says. I giggle. "Minimum wage." "Well hopefully in a year I'll have a stable job. I wanna spoil my little girl." He says. I can't help but smile at his words.
