Joel and I were currently visiting his house. I hadn't seen my parents ever since I moved in so I thought about giving them a visit before coming over to Joel's house.
"So Maya, do we get to know when the special day is?" his mum asked as we were sitting in the lounge, having drinks.
"Actually, that's what we came here for" I started. "Joel and I do in fact, have a set date and we wanted to formally invite you and your family to attend our wedding"
I pulled out a fancy, rose-gold wedding invitation that Joel and I had been working on which we could hand out to our guests.
"Oh this is lovely, thank you" she takes a look at it and reads every word that had been printed in cursive writing.
Joel had given me my ring back several days ago. He told me he had never been more sure of anything in his life and that once this engagement rings goes on my finger again it's never coming off.
"We really do have to get going mom but we just came by to give this. A lot more other guests to invite so we better get going" Joel says.
"Yes, I understand. Thank you again for coming by, it was lovely seeing you again Maya"
"You too" I smiled and gave her a hug before Joel and I left again to our next destination.
We thought it would be a good idea to personally invite family, this involved the rest of the CNCO boys. After we were done, we thought to just mail the invitations to everyone. Adding onto that, Ingrid insisted on helping me buy wedding necessities such as the dress, shoes and much more.
"You don't mind if we go shopping, do you?" I asked Joel as I was planning a trip to the mall with Ingrid over the phone.
"Yeah no problem, I'll just stay over at one of the boys house while you get back" he says.
"Great" I say, attaching my phone back to my ear.
Making my way to her house, I could tell she was excited to go dress shopping as this is her first time.
"I have been waiting for this day ever since Joel put that diamond on your finger" she squeals.
"Calm down, we haven't even reached the mall yet" I giggled.
As soon as we had stepped out of the car, Ingrid grabbed my arm and excitedly dragged me inside.
"We will visit every single shop until we find the perfect dress" she says.
Going into the first store, we see a bunch of white wedding dresses hung up on display. They were all really beautiful but they just weren't for me. Going into the next store, we have a look around at a variety of designs.
"How about this one?" Ingird shows me a dress from across the room.
"That one is nice actually" I walk over to her and grab the dress, giving it a good look.
"Try it on" she suggests.
Walking into the dressing room, I strip my clothes off and put the dress on.
"How does it look?" I heard her voice from outside.
"I don't know, you tell me" I open the curtains to let her in.
"Wow" she says.
"I don't know, I'm not feeling it. It sort of seems forced you know?" I stare at my dress in the mirror as I do multiple twirls.
"This is your dress Maya, if you don't feel right in it then we don't have to buy it. I personally think it looks gorgeous on you but it's your big day not mine" she says.
