The paladins were on a mission. They were planning on blowing up a ship filled with quintessence using a time bomb that went off after a certain amount of doboshes. The ship was landed on a planet, so it was easy to get on it, plant the bomb and get off. Once the paladins had planted the bomb they returned to the castle that was a few metres away. They thought they had succeeded at their mission. But as always, something had to go wrong....

Keith's P.O.V

"Paladins! We have a problem!" Allura shouted as she tapped on the keypad. Her expression looked both worried and frustrated.

"What's the problem Allura?" Shiro asked.

"Well, it seems as if the galran soldiers have discovered the bomb. According to the tracker I have attached to it, the galran soldiers are heading towards the exit of the ship with it"

"Quiznak." Shiro muttered, shocking the other paladins with his bad language. No one was in the mood to bring it up now though.

"Well why don't we just leave it then? Try again next time?" Hunk pointed out.

"Normally that would be the best solution number 2! But this ship is set to leave the planet today! Which means we may never see it again! Also the quintessence on that ship is extremely powerful and we could be in a horrible situation if the galra transported it to Zarkon." Although Coran could be weird at times, at the right moments he could be one of the smartest people on the team.

There was a short silence as everyone tried to think of a solution to this problem. That's when I had my 'great' idea.

"Well what if someone went back to hold them off? I could go back in there and-"

"Absolutely not!" Allura interrupted me. "You would only have a few ticks to get out of there! You would die!"

"So!? If it's for the mission, its worth it." I stated, shooting a glare at Allura. Not a mean glare. Just the type of glare to show her I was serious about this. All the paladins looked shocked at my idea. I just couldn't understand why.

"Y-you can't just sacrifice yourself like that Keith!" Lance shouted, walking right up in my face. (ooooo)

"Well we can't just let them take the quintessence! We could lose the war!" I shouted back.

"But then we would lose you!" Pidge joined in, a slight look of pain in her eyes.

"Paladins whatever you plan on doing, you better do it fast. They are approaching the exit of the ship!" Allura was now starting to sweat a little, clearly concerned about the situation.

"Okay enough everyone!" Shiro's voice spoke above all, making everyone turn to look at him. "Keith, if you are going, let me take you down there at least" No one expected that. Not even me.

"Fine. But you aren't coming in the ship" I muttered, not wanting Shiro to die with me.

We decided not to take the lions. We thought it would be too dangerous with all the galra around so we walked all the way up to the ship and hid behind a rock. Everyone was saying goodbye to me. I tried not to make the goodbyes long, in case I got a bit too emotional. All the paladins looked pained to see me go. Shiro and I started sneaking towards the galra ship.

We managed to get all the way up to the door and Shiro used his galra arm to open it. We were both relieved when no one was there. Shiro looked at me and I looked back at him, trying to figure out what to say.
