(I'll make a part two to the other one shot later)

Keith hadn't told anyone about his past, his family, or pretty much anything about himself. He just didn't see the need to tell them. After all, it didn't matter....

Third P.O.V

Keith woke up all of a sudden. He felt like he was drowning in his own sweat. He was now shaking and panting, trying to calm himself down. Once he had realised his surroundings and what had just happened, he wasn't as surprised. After all, he was used to nightmares now.

Normally Keith would just pace around in his room for a few minutes before getting back into bed and going back to sleep, but he felt unsettled so he decided to go outside.

The castle was on it's home planet, meaning he didn't have to worry about oxygen or anything. Keith just put on his jacket and made his way onto the roof.

He had forgotten how beautiful the skies were. The stars came in all different shapes and sizes but they all had something in common. They were all beautiful. Keith sat down on the roof, staring up at the sky. He didn't know how long he planned to stay up there. He just felt like staying as long as he needed to.

Keith was so distracted by the stars scattered across the sky, he didn't notice Shiro walk onto the roof. He also didn't see Shiro sit next to him.

"Couldn't sleep, I assume?"

Keith jumped a bit at Shiro's sudden appearance, then he replied with "Yeah. What about you?"

"I heard someone shifting about the castle, so I decided to go and see who it was. I kinda guessed it would be you." Shiro replied, putting his hand on Keith's shoulder.

"Heh. Yeah." Keith really didn't know what else to say. Was that meant to be an insult or a compliment? Keith didn't really know.

The two of them sat in comfortable silence for a few seconds before Shiro finally spoke.

"So what's bothering you?" Shiro asked, putting Keith off guard as he really had not expected the question.

"U-uh I don't know. J-just thinking about stuff...." Keith trailed off at the end of his sentence. "Stars are a good way to forget about things."

"They sure are. My mother and I used to go on camping trips. We would stare at the stars for hours" Shiro smiled at the thought of the memory.

"Heh. I would do something similar with my dad. When I couldn't sleep we would climb on the roof and sometimes even fall asleep looking at the stars" Keith voice cracked a little when saying the word 'dad'.

"I never saw you at the shack with your dad Keith, where was he?" Although Shiro's curiosity was understandable, Keith couldn't help but be annoyed at it.

"H-he doesn't live with me. I sometimes visit him and give him flowers as a gift" Keith wasn't really lying, but he was stretching the truth. He felt the tears start to form in his eyes as he looked away from Shiro.

"Flowers? That's a bit of a strange thing to give to your dad, don't you think?"

Keith sniffed a little. He struggled to get the next sentence out.

"Y-yeah. B-but I know he would've appreciated them"

Keith felt the tears start to roll down his cheeks as he watched Shiro try and put the pieces together.

Shiro's face suddenly dropped. He realised what Keith meant. Keith's father was dead. He visited his grave with flowers. Shiro looked over at Keith to see tears rolling down the small boy's cheeks. Shiro had never seen Keith cry, but he could tell that Keith was a silent crier. (How do you spell that? XD)

"Oh Keith...." Shiro was about to hug Keith, but Keith moved away and changed his position.

Keith was now facing the opposite way from Shiro, his face buried in his knees, trying to hide his shame. Keith hated crying in front of people. It made him feel weak.

Shiro didn't know whether he should go in for another hug or not. He didn't want to make Keith uncomfortable but at the same time, he didn't want to just leave Keith on his own. He could hear the small whimpers that escaped Keith's mouth every so often. It broke his heart to hear someone who was like a brother to him cry so Shiro wrapped his arms around the small paladin from behind.

At first Keith tried to squirm away, but then he realised he liked Shiro's warm embrace. It made him feel safe. Shiro was surprised when Keith turned around and hugged him back, nuzzling his face into Shiro's chest. He could tell by how quiet and sharp Keith's whimpers were that he was trying to hold his emotions in. Shiro patted Keith on the back and said...

"Let it all out Keith"

It was as if the dam had broke. Keith was now sobbing into Shiro's chest, muttering a load of random things. Things like 'sorry' or 'I miss him'. Shiro figured that Keith had his emotions all bottled up and now they were all coming out at once. He began running his fingers through the boy's hair, trying to calm him down.

After a few minutes of sobbing, Keith managed to stop the tears and they both stood up. Keith was now looking at Shiro face to face. Shiro saw that Keith's eyes were a mix of emotions. Keith had bags under his eyes, but they were also red and puffy. But when Shiro looked into his eyes, he could see that behind the grey mist was the pain and suffering Keith was feeling.

"I-I'm sorry Shiro. I k-know I shouldn't be getting upset about it b-but-"

"Keith, you are allowed to feel emotions during this war. You don't have to keep all of your sadness bottled up. You know you can always talk to me, right?" Shiro had his hand on the paladin's shoulder, making sure he could look him straight in the eyes. Keith gave a small nod and tried to hold in a yawn. He failed at the holding it in part.

"You haven't had much sleep recently have you? You've been thinking about.... this for a long time." Shiro had managed to put the puzzle pieces together.

Once again, Keith gave a small nod and looked at Shiro with sleepy eyes. Shiro noticed Keith was starting to sway side to side a little, obviously struggling to stay awake. Shiro sat him down and put Keith's head on his lap. Keith tried to squirm away but was too tired to argue so he just let his head lay there and closed his eyes. Shiro started stroking Keith's head again until he heard the red paladins breathing get heavy. He realised that Keith had fallen asleep as quick as anything. Shiro said one more thing before lying down and going to sleep himself.

"Goodnight, Brother...."

Wow I love this one so much. Most of these one shots will be about Shiro and Keith as brothers just because I think it's adorable. The part two to 'Touch' might not be out for a while, depending on if I can think of stuff. Most of the one shots I have written so far have been inspired by my sister (@50ShadesOfGrayBae) so yea. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed!
