Just a quick chapter to remind you that Keith can be a soft boi sometimes.

Based on Season 2.

Third P.O.V

Keith was normally tough.

With a past like his, he'd learned to lock away his feelings to anyone he didn't trust, which, due to many broken promises and betrayals, wasn't a lot of people. He'd been abandoned multiple times and moved on by different people who couldn't deal with his issues. He'd been called multiple names and referred to as multiple things to the point where he couldn't bring himself to act vulnerable in front of anyone in every circumstance.

Almost every circumstance.

There were times where Keith could be so stressed, so emotionally and physically tired, so torn and psychologically drained that he wouldn't be able to contain his emotions and would lash out in anger or in sadness.

There was also the complete opposite.

The paladins were initially going to a planet due to a distress call but it had been cancelled last second due to the callers no longer needing help. Coran had decided it would be best if the castle of lions still landed there for multiple reasons; Coran needed to collect some fuel for something technical, the planet was a super peaceful one and the paladins all needed a break from the crazy missions they'd been doing recently. It didn't take long for the castle of lions to have landed on the surface of the planet.

Keith didn't really understand why the paladins were going to this planet seeing they were only giving Zarkon more time to prepare but he tried to ignore that fact as they all exited the castle.

Immediately, the team were surrounded by a range of different animals, some familiar by Earth, most completely foreign to the paladins. There were some two legged animals and some twenty legged animals. Some were purple, some green, some even rainbow. All of them looked friendly though.

"Coran? Why are there so many animals?" Pidge asked, looking around in amazement.

"Well this planet is most known for it's range of friendly animals. It contains the majority of animals in this universe!" Coran replied.

"Wait, but I see a tiger. Tigers aren't friendly!" Hunk shouted, hiding behind Lance who rolled his eyes.

"Even if the animal is hostile on it's home planet, all the animals here are completely friendly. I assure you." Coran explained, taking out his Altean tablet. "Now feel free to explore paladins. I'm making my way to village Montague!"

"Montague? Isn't that one of the families in Romeo and Juliet?" Hunk pointed out.

"I have no idea what this Juleo and Romiet are but I can inform you that Village Montague was named after a star that crashed into a planet, killing many innocent beings."

There was an awkward silence as everyone registered what Coran had just said.

"Okay uh... nevermind. Lets just go look at animals I guess." Lance suggested, already making his way to an animal that looked very similar to a cat.

Keith wasn't a big fan of many animals to be honest. Most of them just didn't seem to amuse him. Shiro had told him he much resembled a cat in the way he was always grumpy but Keith didn't like cats. Cats were lazy and Keith wasn't lazy. There was only one animal that Keith would be happy to see and that was a-

"Guys look there's a group of Earth animals over there!" Pidge pointed to a group of animals there were indeed the animals the paladins all know and love. Everyone began making their way over to the direction, walking past, cows, horses and all kinds of beasts. Lance and Pidge began petting a cat whilst Hunk began playing with a dog. Keith suddenly felt a tap on his shoulder.
