This was requested by Caden_Wolf and I apologise for the waiting (also for everyone else who requested something) but I get around three requests per chapter meaning I have to write some in advance and publish one each day so I've probably written your request but haven't been able to publish it until a week later. Okay enough rambling and here we gooOOOoOO!

Based on the magical season 2.

Keith's P.O.V

I felt myself tumble out of the healing pod, being caught by a strong body. I looked up to see Shiro looking down at me. Slowly, I pushed off of him and looked around to see the rest of the team there too.

"Glad to see you're finally out of that pod, Keith. After you were hit with that magic we had some worries" Shiro said, smiling at me. I smiled and opened my mouth but...

nothing came out.

All I felt was a burning pain in my throat.

I tried again.

Still nothing.

I looked at Shiro with worry and he gave me a confused look. I felt my breathing start to pick up as I tried and tried to speak.

"Hey, what's wrong?" Shiro asked. I mouthed his name.

Shiro..

I can't speak..

"Can you talk at all?" Shiro asked, receiving a small head shake from me. Shiro turned to Coran who was busy tapping at his Altean keyboard.

"Coran, I think we have a problem. Keith can't speak" Shiro called over to Coran, making everyone else look too.

"That's strange. What happens when you try to speak, Number Four?" Coran asked.

It burns..

"...What did you say?" Coran asked. I tried again but Coran still didn't understand. I looked around for paper or something to communicate but I couldn't find anything. In the end I just shrugged.

"Wait, when you were hit with that mysterious magic where was it focused?" Coran said. I pointed to my throat. I didn't remember much about when I got hit but what I did remember was the horrible burning in my throat.

Coran walked over to his Altean computer and began typing on it. He then turned back to me and told me something no one would ever want to hear.

"It seems the magic broke your vocal cords. Sadly, healing pods can't heal vocal cords. This means...

You're mute now"

I sucked in a silent gasp. I couldn't speak.. I needed to speak! I needed my voice so much!

No no no no no no no no please..

"Keith, Keith. It's okay. We're... we're gonna sort this out okay?" Shiro reassured. He must've been able to lip read that part. But how much could he lip read? Could the team lip read? How would I communicate on missions? I had so many questions but I couldn't ask any of them.

"How is Keith gonna talk to us? We don't have paper or pens unless we go to the space mall again and all the computers here are in Altean. Unless he kept his armour on all the time which he couldn't really do due to them needing charge for the electronics on them on stuff he wont be able to speak" Lance said. At least he asked some of my questions.

"Well until we get to the space mall you'll just have to make due." Shiro said, scratching the back of his neck. I gave him a sad look.

"What's wrong?" He asked.
