HellOooOoOoO. I decided to do a part two because why not. Here ye go!
Keith's P.O.V
It all happened when I was training.
Allura had recommended that we try different weapons in case during a mission our bayards were unavailable at the time. As much as I'd hate to admit it, I'm really really bad with a gun. Back in the garrison we tried out different weapons and I was probably the worst one there when it came to shooting. The gun always felt awkward in my hands and the gunshot would catch me by surprise and make me flinch, changing the direction of the shot. After discovering I was much better off with swords and blades, I switched to them completely and hid my terrible shooting skills.
Obviously now that would be a bit of a problem.
I aimed the gun at the target, closing one eye for a better result. Well, at least I think closing one eye helps. I literally have no idea what I'm doing. I pulled the trigger, flinching and closing both eyes when the gun made a loud BANG. I slowly opened my eyes and looked at the target, seeing for any marks as to where my shot had hit.
The wall. I hit the wall. Again.
"Argh! Stupid small ass target!" I yelled, throwing the gun to the floor and stomping my foot. "Lance makes it look too easy."
"I know I do."
I let out a yelp and turned around, seeing the one and only Lance staring at me.
"Oh um- H-Hi I didn't... see you there." I trailed off, fidgeting with my hands.
"I see you're having trouble shooting. The great Keith Kogane is actually bad at something. I'm surprised" Lance teased. I felt my face heat up because oh my god he called me great and implied that he thinks I'm good at everything sKSkKSkKSKS.
"U-Um well I always stuck to- to swords because there's more control. N-Not saying that you don't have control when you shoot! I mean maybe s-sometimes you don't but I-I lose control too and it's okay but you're mostly in- in control and stuff.." God, I'm rambling. He thinks I'm stupid. He's right to think I'm stupid.
"Yeah I get what you mean. Do you want some help? I could teach you if you want?" Lance offered, picking up the gun I had dropped on the floor earlier.
"I um- yeah sure b-but only if you want to! I mean obviously you want to because you offered and stuff but I thought maybe you-" Lance put his finger over my lips. Wait, doesn't that mean I basically kissed him? My face went bright red again.
"Hush, Keith. I want to teach you." Lance reassured. He put the gun back into my hands. "Now just do what you normally do and I'll correct you in places that need correcting."
"Okay..." I mumbled, slowly aiming the gun at the target. I found it extremely difficult to concentrate when Lance is staring at me like that. Lance suddenly let out a chuckle.
"Keith, you're holding the gun the wrong way round." I looked down at the gun only to see that I was in fact holding it the complete wrong way around. God, Lance was making me nervous.
"Oh um- whoops." I said, fumbling as I flipped the gun around. Lance let out another chuckle as I aimed it once again.
"You need to pull your left hand further back so your body stretches less." Lance pointed out. In the moment I struggled to remember my lefts and rights but eventually managed to pull my left hand back.
"Okay now that's too far back."
I gripped the gun further forward again, almost dropping it in the process. Lance must be so disappointed.
"Okay nope now you- Just- here" Lance said, stepping towards me. Waitwhatishedoing.
Lance came behind me and put his hands on top of mine, his chest lightly pressed against me. He corrected my hand position but both fortunately and unfortunately for me he didn't move from there.
"You then have to raise the gun so you can see just on top of it, got it?" Lance ordered. I nodded but I wasn't really paying attention. All I could think about was Lance's warm breath against the back of my head and his hands placed gently on top of mine. I could feel the heat radiating off of my cheeks and my legs trembling ever so slightly.
"Okay now aim aaaand... fire!" Lance pressed my fingers down on the trigger but kept his chest pressed against me, stopping me from flinching backwards. The laser beam hit the target this time. Not the middle of the target, but a lot better than when I did it on my own.
"You did it!" Lance exclaimed, taking a step back from me. I felt the warmness of his body disappear and realised that I missed it already.
"Y-Yeah um.. thanks.." I mumbled, smiling sheepishly at him.
"Do you want to try on your own or with me again?" Lance asked, giving me a soft smile. I thought about it for a second, realising I wanted to feel Lance's body against mine again.
"I-I wanna try it... with you again.." I muttered, fiddling with the gun in my hands. Lance came up behind me again and took the same position as last time.
The next hour or so flew by. Let's just say Lance helped me a lot more than he needed to. Every time we prepared to shoot again I insisted he guided me. I started to get the hang of it but I still asked for Lance's help just so I could feel his chest against my back and his breath against my head.
"Well done! You're getting the hang of it now" Lance said, putting my gun aside and patting me on the shoulder. "You might turn out better than me."
"I doubt it." I said, giggling slightly. Holy cow, Lance made me giggle. I never giggle.
"If you ever need help with something, feel free to give me a shout, okay?" Lance said, making his way out of the room.
"Oh I will..." I mumbled, just loud enough for Lance to hear.
I should definitely ask for his help more often.
WOOWoOwoOWoOWoOOWOWOw can you tell I know literally nothing about guns? I hope it's not too obvious. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed!
