So Mermiadatheart7 requested a sick Keith chapter quite a while ago but I've only just gotten around to it so my bad.

Based on season 2.

Third P.O.V

Of course the one time Keith got sick would be the one time he shouldn't be sick.

In the morning, it hadn't been that big of a deal. Just a small sting in his head and a dry feeling in his throat. But of course, through out the day, it just had to get worse.

Of course the one time Keith got sick would be the one day Zarkon attacked them this week.

So of course, Keith put his health to the side in order to help Voltron.

Bad idea.

Turns out Zarkon had pulled a sneaky on them. He had about twice as many ships as the paladins had expected and the ships had managed to split up the lions, making them unable to form Voltron. This made it easier for the ships to take them down and before Keith knew it, he was plummeting towards a planet and knocked unconscious.

Luckily, once Keith had woken up, he'd managed to locate the Black lion fairly quickly and made his way to it. He spotted Shiro on top of Black, seeming to be scouting the area. Just as Shiro spotted him, Keith was hit with a wave of pain in his head, making him clutch his hair and groan.

"Are you okay, Keith?" Shiro asked, climbing down the lion.

"Yeah. I think I just hit my head." He lied. Sure, he'd hit his head but Keith had experienced many head injuries in the past and they never felt like this. Keith was assuming this was to do with him being sick.

Before Shiro could get another word in, thunder struck in the sky, making them both jump. Rain began hammering down hard on them.

"Jeez, talk about a weather change." Keith said, already hating the way his bangs stuck to his face.

"We should find a cave." Shiro suggested. "Then we can attempt to contact the others."

After a bit of searching, Shiro managed to scout out a cave. The two paladins quickly dashed into it, practically shaking themselves dry. Shiro began trying to contact the others through his communicator whilst Keith sat down against the wall, suddenly feeling exhausted. He'd assumed all the adrenaline from the battle had worn off so now he'd have to put up with this sickness.

By this time, Shiro had spent half an hour trying to contact Voltron but with no success. Keith had just been sitting down, trying to will the nausea feeling away. His whole body felt like jelly and his nose was blocked, making him sniff every few seconds. Shiro sat down too, realising he wouldn't have much luck.

"Looks like the storm is getting in the way of the connection. We'll just have to stay in here until it passes." Shiro explained.

"Can't we make a fire or something? It's freezing in here." Keith asked, rubbing the side of his arms. His teeth were practically chattering.

"Well we can't exactly get wood because even if we did want to go back in that storm, making a fire with wet wood isn't easy." Shiro pointed out. Keith let out a sigh and put his knees up to his chest, resting his head on them.

"Are you okay? You don't sound too good." Shiro asked, worry laced on his face.

"I'm fine. I just got a cold, that's all." Keith mumbled, shifting around due to his armour being uncomfortable.

"How about you take off your armour?" Shiro suggested.

"Because it's freezing."

"Well I don't think the actual armour pieces are what's keeping you warm."

"Whatever." Keith said, beginning to take his armour off. He left on his black under suit obviously, but couldn't help feeling unprotected in this state. He decided to leave the bottom half of his armour on, figuring that if they were in any danger, he would be able to get ready quicker. Shiro did the same.

"Are you sure you're alright? Your cheeks look red but the rest of you is really pale." Shiro said.

"Yeah well I'm naturally pale and the cold is what's making my cheeks red." Keith grumbled, wishing this day would just end already. He'd do anything to be back at the castle and snuggled up under a blanket. Shiro walked over to him and put his flesh hand onto Keith's forehead.

"You feel a little hot. I think you have a fever, Keith." Shiro stated, pressing his hand on Keith's neck too to check it wasn't just his face that was hot.

"I'll be fine." Keith muttered, resting his head on the wall of the cave. He hugged himself, trying to find some way to keep himself warm. "It's not that bad."

"You should try and sleep. It's getting dark and I don't think this storm is going to end anytime soon."

"I would but the floor probably isn't comfortable and unless there happens to be a pillow around here I wont be able to sleep." Keith said, sounding a little more harsh than intended. He blamed it on the sickness. Shiro sighed before getting up and sitting besides Keith, taking the bottom half of his armour off.

"Here." He said as he put the armour pieces to the side. "lay your head on my lap. You might be able to get some sleep then."

Keith almost disagreed, but he couldn't find the energy to do it this time. He lay his head on Shiro's lap and closed his eyes, realising Shiro's legs were fairly warm. The Black Paladin then began running his fingers through Keith's hair, practically massaging the Red Paladin's scalp. Keith let out a sigh in contentment and turned so that he was facing Shiro's chest, looking up at him. Shiro gave him a warm smile before continuing to fiddle with Keith's hair.

"I'm assuming this is helping?" Shiro asked, watching as Keith's eyes drooped every now and then.

"Yeah.. it is." Keith mumbled, letting his eyes close. Shiro's hands were delicate on his head and he couldn't help but drop off straight to sleep.

It's not much but I felt like writing some sheith/brogane stuff. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed!
