Oakley shifted awake under his car patterned comforter. His blue eyes fluttered open as he sat up in bed, rubbing his eyes. Sticking one foot onto the wooden floor, he froze from the coldness.

The four year old tip-toed to his parents room making sure to be quiet, he remembers the conversation he and his mother had, had about letting Evan slept in after he works late nights.

The door to the bedroom was open slightly, allowing easy access to the room without much noise. Slight snoring was heard from Evan. The boy crawled up onto the bed in an attempt to wake only his mother up.

Zoe was comfortably laying on her left side facing the door.

"Mama". Oakley whispered gentally shook Zoe

"What time is it"? Zoe asked Oakley

The young boy who can't exactly tell time yet just shrugged. Zoe chuckled realizing her mistake before checking her phone for the time. It was just passed 6 in the morning, meaning it was time to get Oakley ready for his first day of school.

Evan jolted awake from a call from his cell phone. Evan verbally groaned out loud. He wanted to go with Zoe to drop off Oakley at his first day of school so if whatever this was wasn't to important... he's just going to say he's unavailable.

"Hello"? Evan awnsered with morning voice

"Hello, This is George Thomason". The annoyed man awnsered

Evan knew this man all to well. He was a complete jerk to him most of the times they'd interacted. He claims that he has some sort of disorder and pays for sessions he doesn't need. It honestly wastes Evan's time when he could be meeting with someone who actually needs help. It didn't take Evan long to understand that George was only coming to him for the attention and to make people feel bad for him.

"Good morning". Evan greeted staying professional

"Yeah, whatever. I need to meet with you now". He man roared

"Well, I'm not currently in the office right now". Evan said rubbing his eyes and making eye contact with Zoe, who was making a disappointed face

"Why not"? George basically yelled into Evan's ear

"It's 6 AM. The office doesn't open until 8 AM. I won't be in until about 10 AM later today". Evan explained

"WHAT?! I PAY TO SEE SOMEONE TO HELP ME WITH MY DEPRESSION AND ANXIETY! IT'S YOUR JOB TO GET OFF YOUR LAZY ASS TO HELP ME"!

Evan was feeling nervous as he trying to keep the little composer he had this early in the morning. Evan still didn't do well getting yelled at. Zoe realized Evan start to sweat nervously. She hadn't seen him like this in a while. She grabbed his hand and held it tightly in hers.

"Please sir, there's no reason t-to get angry. If you really need to talk to someone, go to the office around 8 AM when it opens. There is always someone there who would be willing to help".

"No, let me tell you something 'Mr. Hansen', I don't have time to go and see you people when whenever you feel like doing your jobs. What could you possibly be doing that you think you're to busy"?!

"My son starts his first day of pre-school today, I want to hold my wife's hand as we watch our only child walk into school for the first time ever. I'm sorry I can't get off my lazy butt to go talk to you for 10 minutes. There will be people who can help you there at 8 AM". Evan then hung up proud he stood up for himself.

Zoe smiled wrapping her arms around Evan's neck and kissing him. It meant a lot to her that she doesn't have to spend this once in a lifetime moment alone. Zoe also knows Oakley would really want Evan there aswell.
