Our Little Family (COMPLETED)

Oakley

I was in the upstairs bathroom getting ready for work when I heard Zoe scream. Without hesitation, I ran down to her.

"E-Evan.. it's... t-time". She forced out

I started to panic as I grabbed my car keys. I raced back to Zoe and helped her to the car. She was screaming out the whole way. My anxiety was through the roof but, this isn't the time for me to have an attack.

When we reached the hospital, Zoe was immediately taken from my grip. I waited for what seemed like forever for them to return and tell me to follow them to Zoe.

I held her hand as she continued the birth.

"You're doing great, Mrs, Hansen. One more big push". The nurse said smiling

Soon the sound of crying filled the room. The nurse went to clean our son off. He was so handsome. The nurse carefully placed Oakley in Zoe's arms. She completely broke down as our boy lay crying in her hold.

"Nice to meet you, Oakley". I whispered as I carefully brushed my hand on the little bit of hair he did have

His face was all Zoe's. He had her eyes, nose and smile. His face shape, ears and hair color was all me.

"Evan, he's so.. handsome, isn't he"? Zoe asked still in awe

"He really is, Zo. He's got your face, babe".

Zoe just smiled down at our son before they nurse asked

"What's this baby boy's name"?

"Oakley Connor Hansen". Zoe awnsered proudly

"Awe, adorable name. I'll be back soon".

We both sat in complete and utter amazement over our boy. We took this time to notify our families. My Mother left work early, Zoe's parents had the day off so they came immediately. Connor rushed from the city to see us.

Zoe's parents were the first to arrive. A soft knock brought our attention to them.

"Awwwee, Zoe"! Her Mother, Cynthia gushed

"Hi, Mom. Hi, Dad". Zoe welcomed exhausted

Zoe gently passed Oakley to Cynthia.
She cradled him carefully in her arms as Larry looked over her shoulder in amazement.

"Doesn't he look just like Zoe"? I asked kissing Zoe's forehead

"He really really does". Larry chuckled

"What's his name"? Cynthia asked excitedly

We had kept the name a secret until he was born.

"Oakley Connor Hansen". I awnsered wondering what there reaction would be

"Connor"? Larry asked raising an eyebrow

"He was such an incredible help the months I've been pregnant and... Connor and I have gotten extremely close". Zoe explained as she gripped my hand almost in irritation that they even asked

"Awe, sweety... that's amazing". Her mother smiled

Zoe's grip immediately stopped and we continued to just hold each others hands. Larry still kind of looked confused

"Does Connor know"? Larry eventually asked almost as if he was jealous

"No, it's supposed to be a surprise". I said so Zoe didn't have to

Finally the door opened again. My Mother stood there with tears already streaming down her face.

"Mom"! I greeted standing up to hug her

"Oh Evan, look at him... he's so handsome". My Mother said as I placed Oakley in her arms.

"Oakley, say hi, Grandma". I sat waving his small hand

"Oakley? I love it". Mom gushed

About a half an hour later, Connor rushed to the room. He was out of breath as he stumbled into the room.

"I'm so sorry I'm late! I was in the city when Evan called me".

"Connor, why did you run? We're not going anywhere". Zoe laughed

"Well, i'm sure the little dude wanted to meet his awesome Uncle Connor as soon as possible". Connor chuckled

That comment brought a smile to everyone faces. Mom let Connor hold Oakley. We could now tell Connor the news.

"So, what is the little guy's name"? Connor asked as he smiled down at him

"Well, it's actually a surprise for you". I started

Connor looked up at me with confusion. He looked from me to Zoe.

"His full name is Oakley Connor Hansen". Zoe said smiling

Connor stopped as if he thought he heard us wrong.

"W-What? You named him after me"?

"Of course, we had to name him after is awesome Uncle". I said laughing at his reaction
