Sorry I haven't been active on this story or Wattpad in general, I was actually camping with my family which sparked the idea for this chapter. I based this chapter on events that happened during my camping trip with my family, enjoy!

Oakley was eventually released from the hospital. Now, all they have to do is remind the child of his life before the accident.... easy right? Over the last few days from the hospital, Oakley has gotten familiar with his parents again, no he still can't remember the years perviously, however he knows who they are.

It was a family decision to go camping as a way to bring the family closer and a way to hopefully lead Oakley to remembering the past. The good news, because his memory is gone, he doesn't remember the lockdown. This means, he's a smiley, happy kid again, just not the same kid from before, he can't remember anything to do with anything that was part of his old life.

Zoe and Evan feel like they just brought a random kid into the family and started calling him their son. They know he's still their son and he has moments where he remembers small part of his life.

Evan packed the car with everyone's suitcases. He slamed the trunk and headed to the drivers side. He grabbed the handle but waited for Zoe to bring Oakley out. Finally out came Zoe with Oakley's hand in hers.

She had her purse slung over her shoulder. Oakley had his backpack on his back. Zoe packed him snacks for the road and something to occupy his mind. He smiled up at her and giggled.

At least he's happy again....

Evan smiled at his wife and son before making a silly face at the boy who laughed back at his father. Zoe lifted him up into the car to strap him into his seat. He allowed her without hesitation.

Finally we were off to go meet up with Connor. It was a huge family camping trip with both sides of the family.

"When are we meeting your Mom"? Zoe asked as she texted in a group chat with everyone else.

"She'll meet us at the camp site. She has to work until noon today then she has the whole week off with us".

"Good, she needs some time off. I'm not saying she's old but she's not as young as she used to be, it's not good for her to work like she does. It worries me". Zoe frowned at Evan

"I know, Zo. I tell her all the time. My dream is to someday make it so she doesn't have to work anymore. Whether I someday make enough money for her to life off from or whatever.... she doesn't deserve to work like this her whole life. I know when I moved out and got a job then married you... she could finally drop one of her jobs but her boss is a jerk! He treats her awfully and my poor Mom just takes it"! Evan growled

Evan doesn't get angry at to many things, but one thing that will tick him off everytime is someone miss treating his Mom... or anyone he loves. They then arrived at Connor's. Cynthia and Larry were there waiting too. They piled into Connor's truck and they headed off to the camp sites.

The drive was long and boring for a little kid. He kicked his legs out in an attempt to stretch. He hated the restraints on his car seat. He looked down at the strap that when across his chest. He tried to push the button down but couldn't.

He began to whine. The boy then started crying. Zoe brought her eyes up from her phone to look behind her. Her son looked up at her as well.

"Help"? He asked

"We're almost there, bud. Stay put for just a little longer". Zoe tried to say but Oakley wasn't having it. He wanted out of that seat and he wanted out now.

Zoe casually whispered to Evan.

"How long"?

"Uh Zoe, we're not even halfway there...".

The woman actually groaned out loud knowing this child wasn't going to be able to stay seated for 5 more hours. They decided to pull over to stretch. Connor pulled over beside there car to make sure everyone was okay.

Finally after the short break, the family were off again. They arrived at a nice campground. They had a pool, many playgrounds, a store, mini golf and much more. It was the perfect place to camp with a big family.

They got campsites right next to each other. Zoe, Evan and Oakley in one tent. Connor in his own. Cynthia and Larry in there own and when Heidi arrived she had her own tent.

Evan and Connor tried there hand at making a fire....... with fire starters because neither one of them did boy scouts or anything of the sort.

After much headache, they eventually did it. The two grown men highfived like children which gained a giggle from the rest of the family.

"Hey! It was hard work! Give Evan and I a break! We deserved that celebratory high five"! Connor chuckled

Then they moved to setting up the tents. The two men wrestled with the sticks hoping that eventually they would get it right.

"Uh.. Con? I don't think that looks right". Evan said scratching his head, looking at the instructions.

"What do you mean? I did it right"!

"This long pole is supposed to be on the bottom corner... not stuck up in the air". Evan said turning the instructions slightly to get a better look.

"What?! Give me that"! Connor said taking the long paper scroll like thing from Evan's grip.

After skimming over the long paragraph about where to place the poles, Connor finally realized there mistake.

"Evan..."?

"Huh"?

"THIS WAS UPSIDE DOWN THE WHOLE TIME"! Connor yelled

"No, I was holding the directions right side up, I know I was"! Evan defended

"No, No you weren't. Before we even started, you started reading the Spanish side, then the French... you never flipped the directions over for the English side"!

"Oh my bad... sorry".

"How... How were you reading me English directions if you weren't even reading the right side"?!

"I'm freaking talented, Connor. Didn't you know"?

After watching the two bicker back and fourth for a good ten minutes. Larry eventually took over and showed them how to do it. When Heidi showed up, Evan took the skills he learned from Larry to set up her tent for her.

Finally everything was set and now... it's time to eat.
