BACK TO PRESENT DAY.
EVAN'S POV
I don't mind that Zoe's parents are here. I can tell she's annoyed by them but I feel like it's good for all of us to be together. It's around 6 PM now and it's time for dinner.

"Zo, why don't we go out for dinner? That way you don't have to cook and the family can spend time together".

Zoe looked up at me with a furrowed brow. She clearly didn't like the idea of spending any more time around all of them. It's been a rough night for her, her Dad is talking all about how we should move closer while her mother is distracting Oakley from listening to her.

"Evan, I'm just going to order out". She snapped at me

I felt bad that I caused her to get mad. I felt my face burn with embarrassment, my lip started to quiver uncontrollably. I've gotten really good with my anxiety but one thing I haven't overcome is Zoe getting angry with me.

I turned away before she could see me about to cry. I thought I as doing better with this, now... I feel like I'm back in High school. I felt a hand on my shoulder turning around to see Zoe there.

She took my hand and we snuck upstairs to our bedroom. I sat away from her on our bed. Zoe sat next to me curling into my side.

"Baby, I'm sorry I snapped at you. I'm just really stressed with them here".

I nodded trying to show I understood without breaking into a fit of snobs. Zoe carefully put both of her hands on my face before making me look at her. She smiled and sweetly kissed the end of my nose. I broke a smile though my tears

"Feel better"? She asked me

I nodded and pulled her into a sweet kiss. She dropped her head for a second before looking into my eyes again.

"Is there a reason you wanted to go out to dinner, Evan"?

"Well... my Mom wanted to come if we did. She has tonight off".

"Really?..... Fine, we can go out".

I smiled wide before kissing her cheek again.

"Thanks, Zo"!

ZOE'S POV
He's such a goofball sometimes. I love him with all of my heart. He looked at me with his big eyes before leading me out to my parents.

"Let's go out for dinner so Evan's Mom can join us". I said to my parents

"GRAMS"?! Oakley yelled excitedly
(BTW, Grams is what I call my real Grandma. Also I wanted Oakley to call Cynthia and Heidi something different so it's easy to tell who's he's talking to.)

Both of Zoe's parents agreed and we were off. Zoe even called Connor to come along. We was very willing, he said he'd meet us there. The restaurant was very nice so everyone dressed up. Oakley never liked ties, so ever since Zoe put a bow tie on him, he pulled on it in annoyance.

"Oakley, stop pulling on your tie"? Zoe said tapping him on his shoulder

He gave her a pouty lip before turning away towards me. I smiled down at him understanding his aggravation. We waited until we saw Connor walking towards the front doors.

"Look who's here, Oatie"! I said pointing towards Connor

"UNCLE CONNOR"! The boy shouted while running to him

Zoe looked at me with a certain look. Maybe that wasn't a good idea, not only did he yell in a quiet resterant causing people to stare, he ran out into the road to where Connor is.

Either way, Connor carried him back inside to us. Now, we just wait for my mother. She wasn't to much longer. I raced to meet her by her car to lead her in.

"Hey Mom"! I greeted hugged her

"Hi, Evan. Thank you so much for inviting me. It's going to be so nice to spend time with you, Oakley and Zoe".

"Yeah, I hope you don't mind that Zoe's parents and Connor are here too. Zoe's parents just dropped in this afternoon".

"It's not a problem at all, honey. I'm just happy to be here with my family".

I smiled and brought her to the front doors. Oakley was so excited to see her but Zoe talked to him about keeping his voice down. A waiter brought us to a big table and sat us down.

He told us the specials and gave us menu's. I sat next to Oakley and my mother. Zoe sat on the other side of Oakley then beside her was Connor. Next to Connor was Cynthia then Larry.

I picked what I wanted then turned to Oakley to help him decide. He wanted some chicken nuggets so we ordered that from the kids menu.

"Daddy"? He asked me quietly

"Yeah, bud"?

"C-Can you tell them... what I want"?

He was referring to the waiter when he takes orders. Oakley was to shy to tell them what he wanted. I nodded which brought a smile back to his face. He hugged me tightly

"Thank you, Daddy"!

"You're welcome, Oatie".

The conversation at the table continued until the waiter came back with our drinks and ready to take our order. After he left, the conversation turned... uncomfortable.

"So, when are you going to give us grandkids, Connor"? Cynthia asked

Connor's face immediately turned bright red with embarrassment.

"What"?

"Zoe has given us a grandchild.... when is your turn"?

I could feel Connor's embarrassment from over here. Zoe interrupted when she saw how uncomfortable Connor was getting.

"Having a child is a huge responsibly. You have to be ready for it, or even want it".

"I know that Zoe, I had two kids". Cynthia said almost sarcastically

"Zoe's right... i'm just not ready". Connor said looking down at his drink

"Fine.... what about you Zoe"?

"What? We have Oakley".

"Yes but don't you want a baby girl? You could go out on mother and daughter days when she got older and go shopping. When you were born, Zoe you where the most amazing thing, besides Connor, that could've possibly have happened to your Dad and I. Don't you want that same feeling"?

"I've already experienced that feeling with my baby boy. I'm not saying in the future Evan and I might not have another child but it doesn't have to be a girl for us to love them. I love my son with all of my heart and I don't wish we had a girl. He's perfect and has made my family perfect".
