The Big Moment

Connor and Evan walked to the back patio. The moon was full and casted a blue glow over the backyard. Connor couldn't help but play with his hoodie zipper out of worry.

"So what's going on"? Evan asked worried

"How... how did you propose to Zoe"?

"Huh... where is this coming from"?

"I.. I just want to know.. because I might be thinking about asking Cady. But don't tell anyone! Not even Zoe"!

"That's awesome, man! I'm so happy for you. Well... the proposal went something like this"....

Flashback
Evan paced the apartment with much anticipation and nervousness. He's had this ring for months now, he knows who he wants, she's been with him since high school and here they are... years later, graduated from collage, living together and he still can't get enough courage.

"Come on, Evan. Just ask her... it should go like this...." Evan said to himself as he started going off on a long story of how the proposal should go.

He was shaken from his monologue when the apartment door opened. Zoe stood there holding paper bags from the grocery store. She was balancing four full paper bags as well as a Starbucks coffee and her car keys. Evan immediately rushed to help her.

"Thanks, babe! That was starting to get heavy"! Zoe joked kissing Evan's cheek

"I-it's no problem! What did you get"?

"Anything that was on sale. I got some soda, there was a buy one get one free sale. I then picked up some vegetables like asparagus, tomatos and broccoli".

"Zoe, you know how I feel about broccoli". Evan pouted

"For the last time, Evan. I know they look like baby trees, but they're not"!

"It still makes me feel bad....".

Zoe let out a sigh that was followed shortly after with a chuckled.

"You're so ridiculous sometimes but, I love every moment of it".

Evan was pulled into a quick kiss before Zoe pulled away to go to the bathroom. Evan started putting the groceries away while still having his thoughts go crazy.

Once Zoe returned she was pleased to see everything taken care of. The groceries, the cleaning of their one bedroom apartment, everything was perfect.

"Hey Ev, is there anything you want to do tonight"?

Evan froze then turned with a small smirk on his face. There was one place he thought to go, somewhere that's not only special to Evan but even more so to Zoe.

"Wanna go to the music archives? I hear that just added something new". Evan asked

"The music archives? That's a random place for you to want to go".

"I guess so but... I don't know, I just really w-want to".

"Okay then, I would love to go with you". Zoe blushed, she hadn't been to the archives since her first year of collage. Because Evan took a year off before going into collage, they ended up going together.

The travelled there. Zoe was basically bouncing in the seat. The building was very tall for the area they lived in. It seemed to be almost like a sky scraper compared to everything else.

They walked through each room taking in the music of all sorts of famous people. Zoe loved the Jazz section. She knew she had to start playing again, her old guitar is back home at her parents house.
