An hour after Liam’s challenge Raven and Jean found us sitting on the grass talking and trying to warm ourselves. “Kayla, you ready?”

          “Nope, not at all.”

          “Okay, cool, let’s go.”

They lead us to this big dirt area thing that reminded me of the time when we had to fight wild animals. It was plain, there was nothing in it at all except for two swords that rested in the middle. “What are you gonna make me do?” I asked, confused. “Fight air?”

          Jean grinned, “No. Fight him.”

We all turned around and I heard Marisa gasp as the boy showed himself. For a second I thought that my eyes were messed up because it wasn’t possible what they were seeing. A messy haired blonde boy with stormy grey eyes in a black T-shirt and jeans. “No frickin way,” I said.

“Yes, frickin way.” Devin said, walking towards us.

“Marisa, Liam, Harry, up there!” Raven screamed, and began to push them up onto a balcony so that they could watch.

“No,” Harry said, shaking his head, “That’s not fair. Or possible!”

“It is,” Devin said. “Let me tell you who I am. My name is Jason. I bet that Devin didn’t tell you that he had a twin brother did he? When you stayed at my house I was out doing…stuff.”

          “Wait, wha?”

“Guess not. I know all about you though, Kayla. Devin called me and told me about you when dad bought you, he called me and told me how he was so sad that it turned out that you had a boyfriend, he called me after he almost killed you, he called me what you joined forces together…he talked about you a lot.”

“Yeah, well he’s dead now. I killed him. Pushed him into a volcano. Poof!”

“I know. That’s why when Raven here called me I said yes. I want my revenge I what you did to my brother.”

          “Tassstttaaaayyy revenge,” Jean said.

I watched as Raven forced Liam, Marisa, and Harry up to the balcony.

“So what? I just have to fight him?”

“Yeah,” Jean said, “A fight to the death. One of you is gonna die.”

          I swore under my breath.

          “Go.”

I raced for the sword and managed to grab one, but Jason got the other. He swung and I wasn’t able to dodge in time so he hit me in the leg and I screamed. “Why is everyone in your family so messed up!?”

Jason didn’t respond. He swung again, near my stomach but I jumped back. I did a forward roll between his legs and pushed my sword up, missing him.

He snarled and ran towards me. I ducked and kicked him in the balls, but it didn’t seem to affect him at all. “Kayla, Kayla, Kayla…” he said, “You ain’t gonna beat me.”

In response I took a step towards him. “Probably not.”

His sword cut me in the arm and pain ran through my body but I didn’t scream. I ducked as he almost hit my head and actually managed to get him in the leg, and he wobbled a bit. I leaped to the left and he followed my example and punched me hard in the face. I gasped because it hurt like hell and turned to him, angry, and tried to slice him in the stomach but he dodged easily.
