Popcorn and Questions

Half an hour later we were sitting on bright red couches with bowls of popcorn in our laps. I was next to Harry and Marisa and Marisa was next to Liam.
We sat in silence, not eating anything as the show began. It started off with me and Marisa at the school, fighting. Harry cracked up when the shelf fell on Marisa and Liam bit his lip, trying not to laugh and muttered, “Sorry.”
    “Ok, that hurt!” Marisa said.
Liam shot me a look when I shot Marisa into the river, obviously thinking that I am too dangerous of a person to be trusted alone with her, but I just laughed.
Marisa laughed too, and so did Harry. I just sat there, not really sure what to do. The show picked up when we met Stephen Jerzak and attacked the ice cream vendors.
It got a little boring after that, but that quickly changed once we met Liam and Harry. The whole crew howled when we ran over them, and Marisa and me laughed a little too. Harry and Liam sat there, probably remembering the pain.
Us flirting was a little embarrassing, but it was hilarious when Marisa and Liam were discussing their taste in cookies.
As it showed the footage of me making the crew members run into the garbage cans they sputtered, “That really hurt!” And all of us cracked up, glad that we caused them pain.
The arena was a lot like the Hunger Games but it was cool to watch Marisa, Harry, and Liam fight since I didn’t know for sure what happened. I flinched when the horn went into Harry, cause it was really disgusting.
The crew grew silent as me and Harry started talking in the truck, and I blushed. Marisa had her face buried in her hands and Harry was grinning like crazy. As we began to kiss giggles escaped from random peoples mouth and Harry said, “We look good on camera.”
I laughed, and for the sake of knowing it would make Marisa turn beet red I gave him a long kiss. She blushed, but didn’t object.
I zoned out for a bit until Liam and Marisa’s kiss, which was short but romantic. Marisa blushed and wouldn’t meet Liam’s eyes, but he was smiling slightly.
When it was over, the crowd clapped like animals. “We’re doing the interviews separately, Kayla and Harry, and then Marisa and Liam. Marisa and Liam are up first.”

Of course, before the interviews started, they made us take showers and wear fancy clothes. They also gave us some more food. It was creepy how alike this was to the Hunger Games, but I was glad the guy who was interviewing Liam and I didn’t have blue hair.
“So, what were you first thinking when you got kidnapped?” The announcer, Greg, directed the question to me. We were sitting on another couch, this one a light blue, and Liam was pretty close to me.
“Terror,” I responded. “But I have to admit, it was awesome.” Louis told us all before the interview that if we said anything bad about the producers of the show, we would be in a lot of trouble.
The audience laughed, and Greg smiled. “And, I must admit you girls were pretty clever.”
    “Thanks?” I said questionably.
“And Liam, what were you thinking when you met Marisa and Kayla? And when you got kidnapped with them?”
Liam sat up straighter. “At first, I was a little scared. But that when away, because I was with Marisa.” He clutched onto my hand, and I blushed.
“Awww,” Greg said, sticking out his bottom lip. “What were you thinking when you were both in the arena?”
“I thought we were going to die,” I said honestly.
“It was very...interesting to watch what you did to Bob.”
I grinned. “How was I supposed to know how to work a gun? Kayla knew, she shot me off a bridge.”
Greg laughed. “Liam, you handled that python pretty well.”
“Thanks,” Liam said. “But I was more focused on loosing the others then caring about myself.”
“I could tell it was very hard for you when you thought you were about to be tortured,” Greg said.
“Hard is an understatement,” Liam said, huffing. “It was torture. I mean, hello.”
“But, it all turned out swell and dandy, didn’t it?” Greg said, swinging his arm like those old people did.
“Sure?” I said, raising my eyebrow. “Besides the fear and the pain.”
“You sure liked that kiss, Marisa,” Greg said, staring right at me.
I hated this guy. I looked down, my face flushed. “Um...yeah.”
“We both loved it!” Liam said, smiling. He kissed me on the cheek.
“There you have it!” Greg said, looking at the audience. “Liam Derain and Marisa Drew, weren’t they great?”
The audience clapped and whistled and we stood up, bowed, and left the stage. Once we were off, I turned to Liam. “I think you missed.”
He grinned, knowing what I meant, and kissed me for longer than before on the lips.

Greg was a tall man with grey hair and kind brown eyes. “Let’s give a warm welcome to Kayla Thomas and Harry Derain!”
I walked out to a clapping, yelling crowd and sat down on the couch. “So, Kayla, what made you want to take Emmalina with you?”
I exclaimed, “Wait where is Emmalina?”
Greg laughed, “She’s fine, she’s fine. You’ll see her when you’re done.”
I sat back in my seat, “Oh. Well just like any other pet I got attached and didn’t want to leave her alone.”
Greg nodded, “Of course. Did you feel bad about running over the boys?”
Harry chuckled a little next to me, “Well I felt bad that Liam messed up his arm but it was kind of funny.”
Greg smiled, “I know I was laughing my head off.” The audience howled, agreeing.
Greg turned serious, “So I know what everyone here wants us to talk about. What did you two think of the truck scene?”
I decided I would let Harry answer that one. “Well I enjoyed it. A lot.”
Greg raised his eyebrows, “Yes, you made that quite clear. But what made you want to?”
“Puberty.” I answered, and the crowd cracked up.
Greg laughed, “What did you think of it Kayla?”
    “It was pretty nice.”
The crowd was hysterical now. “And the lake scene? What went on there?”
Harry laughed, “Same thing that happened in the truck.”
Greg nodded, “And now that the show is over, do you two plan on staying together?”
I nodded back, “Yes, Harry and Liam are gonna stay in their dad’s hotel in Chicago, so we can see them a lot.”
    “A lot.” Harry repeated.
    “A lot.” I said too.
Greg laughed. A lot. “Did you ever suspect you were on a TV show?”
“Oh yea,” I said, waving my hand, “We knew the whole time.”
Harry went on with it, “From the very beginning.”
Greg smiled. “Well the crowd’s seen you two kiss...a lot...” The crowd laughed, “On screen, but never in person.”
Harry leaned towards me and kissed me, in front of probably about a thousand people, but it didn’t feel any different than it did at the lake and in the truck. We went on for a while, until Greg coughed so many times it was impossible to ignore. “There will be plenty of time for all that later.”
“I know I’m looking forward to it.” Harry said.
“Well, that’s Harry and Kayla for you all!”
The minute that me and Harry got off the stage we continued what we started on the stage. Like usual, we fell to the ground and he pulled me into his lap. There was nothing to interrupt us this time, so we went on and on and on.
