We were in a cave, which was nice. I mean, it was better than standing under a little tree when a huge storm that just started was happening. But the hair on the back of my neck still stood up, no matter how long Liam held my hand. I couldn’t stand behind with these guys.

Jean had started a fire, and it was obvious he was going to try to control all of us and be the leader. He was adding more and more wood- which was wet from the storm, but it still worked- and warming his large hands.

Gage was in a corner, a huge mess. He wasn’t talking at all, his head was down and his shoulders were shaking, and my heart hurt for him even if he was a horrible person.

“How are we going to get food?” Devin asked. Harry was still staring at him, obviously disgusted, and Liam, Kayla, and I were giving him the same look. He was definitely the worst out of the now three guys. Devin shrank back when he saw our stares.

“Does anyone know how to hunt?” Liam said.

“I do, but no way in this storm. We’re going to have to wait until morning,” Jean said.

“So we’re staying here until morning?” Kayla said. She shivered at the thought.

“We don’t really have a choice,” Harry said. He, Kayla, and Emmalina were in another corner, Liam and I nearby them. A cave scene was definitely in their minds- but I think they knew that wouldn’t really work out in this situation.

“Fine,” Kayla said, after exchanging a look with me. “But what if those creepers find us?”

“I think we’ve got enough creepers on our hands as it is,” Liam said, his eyes darting at Devin.

    “Hey, watch it,” Devin spat.

“You don’t scare me,” Liam revoked.

“Well, I might in a few seconds.” Devin rolled up his sleeves and flexed his muscles.

“Both of you shut up,” Jean said. “Liam, you’re the peacekeeper, so why don’t you just keep your temper under control.”

“Since when do I take orders from you?” Liam said. His hand was tensing up and I started getting nervous.

“Just forget about it,” I whispered in his ear. He relaxed a little, but he was still pissed.

We were quiet for the rest of the night.

I fell asleep on Harry’s arm, Emmalina cuddled next to me. When I woke I heard birds chirping outside and for a moment I forgot where I was, then remembered that I was in a cave with my boyfriend, the boy that tried to like kill me in a really weird way, my best friend and her boyfriend who was the peacekeeper but kind of freaked out last night on Devin, and the ginger guy who was sleeping near the boy whose brother died yesterday. Great.

I sat up slowly, careful not to wake Harry or Emmalina. I looked around and saw with distaste that the only other boy awake was Devin. He was staring at me. “What?” I whispered.

“It’s just-I’m sorry. I didn’t ever mean to hurt you like that. That night got really out of control and-”

“You can’t really apologize for it,” I interrupted, “You did it, and you know you would do it all over again if you got the chance.”

“I wouldn’t though,” He stopped me, “I was...well I was a hormonal teenager and got exited when you came and really mad when you wouldn’t give me what I wanted. And then I felt like I had to like keep my pride or whatever by being all jerk like afterwards. So, I really am sorry.”
