I can tell that Marisa is a little mad about me and Harry, but I figured that she would get over it once she and Liam kissed.
Once we got out the window we began sprinting away from the cell, not really sure where we were going but just wanting to get out of there. We ran for about half an hour straight and by the time we were done we were all panting and sweating.
Marisa sat on the ground and Liam bent down next to her, both red faced. “What are we going to do?” Marisa asked him.
Liam shrugged, “We’ll figure it out. Right now let’s just try to get some rest.” Marisa and Liam fall asleep next to each other, but not really touching. They’re holding hands and they’re legs bump into each other, but their relationship is more sweet and romantic than mine and Harry’s, which I really don’t mind.
Harry glances at me and raises his eyebrows. “Uh-uh. Not tonight.” I say, because I’m tired. I do want to kiss him again but I don’t need Marisa mad at me and I do need to sleep.
“Ok.” Harry says, kneeling on the ground. I fall down next to him and begin to shiver. I realize just how cold it is and that my jacket does little for me.
It’s okay though, cuz’ Harry’s pretty close to me. His arms are around me, lightly, and we’re slightly touching. I figured that we wouldn’t be like this if it wasn’t so cold, but I highly doubt that Harry minds at all.
“What are we going to do once we get out of here?” Harry asks, and I know what he means.
“Well, I doubt Marisa and Liam will split, and neither will me and you.” Suddenly, an idea pops into my mind, “Does your dad own any hotels in the U.S?”
Harry answers, “Yea, a ton.”
“Any in Chicago?”
I can practically feel his smile, “Yea. What did you have in mind?”
“Well, you said that he travels a lot going from hotel to hotel, right? What difference would it make if you lived at a different hotel?”
There’s silence as he thinks about it, “I doubt he would mind.”
I grin, “Marisa and Liam will freak when we tell them.”
Harry laughs softly, probably not wanting to wake them up. If he does, Marisa will probably yell at me for being so close to him, and Liam will want to get moving. I found that he’s pretty good at survival.
“Well, first we have to get out of here.” Harry says, holding me a little bit tighter. I don’t mind.
When we wake up, we are filthy, tired, and hungry. We decide to keep moving north and split up to find food and water and meet up at the convenient store. Kayla and Harry run off and disappear in a few minutes. Well, there’s no doubt they’ll be too busy to look for food.
“I think I hear trickling water,” Liam says. His black hair is blowing in the wind perfectly.
“Me too,” I say. We head into a forest, and I seriously feel like we’re in the Hunger Games. Finally, we find a little stream and kneel down, taking off our shoes and splashing them in the water. We fill up some water bottles and I rise my hair in the tiny waterfall.
“Um...” Liam says, “About what I said earlier in the arena...”
My mind was blank. “What?”
“About...” He ran his hand through his hair, “You know, loving you.”
My body froze. “Oh. That.” I laughed a little bit. “Did you...mean it?”
He looked right at me and came closer. “Yeah. Did you?”
I didn’t respond, just leaned in and kissed him. My whole body felt like someone had set it on fire, but in a good way. I felt his hand stroking my hair. When I looked up at him, he was smiling right at me.
The first thing that we did was look for food. We were in the forest, just like I thought Marisa and Liam were. “Let’s look for something to eat.” I said.
Harry gasped, “I can’t believe that I forgot!” He dug into his jean pocket for a bit, and came out with a bag of Cookie Dough. “Me and Liam went to the movies just the other day and I had left over candy.”
I gasp too. The last time I had something to eat was a long time ago. We sit down against a tree and split it in half, eating it quickly and greedily. “This is so good.” I say, meaning it.
Harry laughs, “Well yea. I think anything would taste good right now.”
I nod and we stand up, looking for water. We walk for about half a mile when we come to a large lake. “A lake.” I say, pointing out the obvious.
Harry nods and repeats, “A lake.”
I bite my lip. Oh, who cares. I unzip my sweat shirt and stay in my tank top and then jump in the lake, still in my jeans.
Harry takes off his shirt, revealing some pretty nice abs, and jumps in as well. I swim over to him and he splashes me, but it feels good.
I take a breath and go under the water, opening my eyes to find Harry under as well. He’s looking at me and his hair is going everywhere, but it looks really cute.
We come up for air and swim back to shore, because the water’s really cold. The minute I get out I turn away from Harry and walk about ten steps so he can’t see me, take off my tank top and quickly slip on my sweatshirt so that at least something dry is on me.
I walk back to Harry to find that his shirt is back on. He grins at me and I give in and fall into his arms, kissing him.
It’s just like before, if not better. The same feeling shoots through my body. I still fit the same way in his arms. The water from his hair drips onto my shoulders and I wonder if I’m getting him wet, because my hair’s soaking and really long.
We slip to the ground and kiss by the tree, and the thought that we are still in any type of danger doesn’t cross my mind once. It’s impossible to think of anything else when his lips meet mine.
When Liam and I meet back up with Kayla and Harry, I know something’s wrong. There seems to be some kind of rustling in the bushes, but I don’t tell anyone because I think it’s just me. When Kayla and Harry appear from the other side of the forest, they’re both soaking.
“You’re wet,” I say.
“Ditto,” Kayla says. She looks right at me and I smile. Her lips curl, and she knows what happened.
“Okay, so now what?” Liam says. He seems to be exchanging the same look between him and Harry.
“Wait, did you hear that?” I say, looking around frantically.
“What?” Liam asks. His hands reach for mine.
Suddenly, the rustling in the bushes turns into a rattling and three black covered bodies jump out and grab us.
“Ah!” We all scream. They put bags over our heads, and before I can yell for Liam our bodies are thrown into yet another truck.
“Are you joking me?” Kayla says. I try to get the bag off my head, but it’s tied around pretty tight. Luckily, there are small holes for us to breath out of.
“Is everyone okay?” I say.
“Yeah,” They say back. “Where are they taking us now?” That’s Harry’s voice.
“Oh my god, EMMALINA!” Kayla suddenly shouts. “We left her in the dungeon!” I think I hear whimpering noises coming from her.
Finally, the bags are lifted from our heads and I squint from the light. We appear to me in a hideous, dreadful looking room. There are four bed looking things with a bunch of horrible devices sticking out.
“No.” I say, and realize what’s going on.
