I woke to loud knocking. Martin appeared, “Liam, come with me so I can show you how to work the plow. Kayla, go to Devin’s room. He says he has something he wants to show you.”

Sighing, I got up and rubbed my eyes. I made my way back to the house and to Devin’s room. I didn’t knock, I just walked in.

Devin was sitting on his bed. His hair was messy and he was wearing dark jeans and a white T-shirt. “Hi.”

    “Hey.”

That’s when I took in what was around the room. One Direction posters, Percy Jackson books, the color blue everywhere, a Stephen Jerzak cutout, and a million movies. “Wha-?”

“I wanted to make you feel more at home!”

    “Um...thanks?”

“You’re welcome! I have the whole day planned out: You’ll take a shower, then we’ll go out to lunch, and either take my father’s car or walk or ride the horses to this pond that I found, and then we can come back for dinner. What do you say?”

I say this is creepy. “Sure.” I said, slowly. “Where’s the shower?”

Devin grinned, “Right in there.” He pointed to a bathroom...in his room.

“Um, do you have any...clothes, for me to wear?”

“Yea I do,” he said getting up and walking over to his desk. He handed me a a pair of shorter than short shorts, and a white practically see through tank top.

“These aren’t clothes, this in barley even underwear!”

Devin laughed, “Yea well, we’re going to the pond and it’ll be hot there.”

I sighed and walked into the bathroom, shutting and locking it behind me. It felt good to take a shower. I hadn’t been clean in a while.

I got out and quickly put on the clothes. There was a knock. “Kayla? Are you done?”

“Yea,” I said, unlocking the door. Devin came in, smiling when he saw me.

    “We should be going soon.”

    “Okay.” I said.

We walked downstairs and I put on my sneakers. “How do you want to get to lunch?”

    “We can just drive.”

I followed him out to the same brown car. We passed the fields as we went, and I saw Liam sweating over the plow. “Hey!” I called out.

He waved. “Hey. Where are you guys going?”

Devin stopped him, “Mind your own business!”

I started at him, “Devin, don’t talk to him like that,” I said sweetly.

Devin softened, “Okay...but we really do need to get going.”

I waved goodbye to Liam and got in the car with Devin. He asked me question’s through lunch, which I answered stiffly.’

“What’s your favorite subject in school? What do you like in a guy? Do you have any pets?” And more.  When we got to the pond, I realized for the first time, I had no swimsuit. And this was different from with Harry. This was some creepy sixteen year old.

    “Are we swimming?” I asked.

    “Mmmmhhhhmmmm.”

    “In what?” I said, sharply.
