As the night went on, the club grew crowded and hotter inside. The band on stage were dripping in sweat as they sang their own versions of songs by Elvis, Eddie Cochran and Little Richard.

People cheered and listened as me and John stood by the bar, having another drink and talking about ourselves.

"I'm really glad you took me out tonight John." I blushed looking up at him. He smiled.

"I'm glad you're enjoying yourself. You're the only bird I know from school that'd be proud to be seen in a place like this."

"Reminds me of America. We have lots of places like this. Rock N Roll is a lot more appreciated there."

"Yeah. It almost seems forbidden 'ere." He yelled over the music. I nodded and took another drink.

The band soon stopped playing and thanked the crowd. A slow song began playing on the speakers.

"D'you want to dance?" He asked looking down at me. I just nodded as he took my hand and pulled me to where other couples were swaying. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he rested his hands on my waist.

"I don't usually dance. So sorry if I'm shit."

"I think you're doing quite well so far Lennon." I smiled. His face turned a bit red.

"So, you and Cyn."

"What about us?"

"What would she do if she found out we were here together. Now."

He sighed and looked at the ground. "She'd probably go crazy. Bad enough she's jealous of ye already."

"Then why are you here with me?"

"Cause I like ye."

"But you love Cyn."

He shrugged.

"You do love her don't you?"

"I say it to her when she says it to me."

"Do you mean it?"

He bit his lip and looked into my eyes. I could see the small beads of sweat rolling down his face from the heat. His hair was a bit damp. He looked sexy.

"No."

"I see."

"What about you?"

"What about me?"

"Do you like me?"

I just nodded and reached over, wiping the sweat off his forehead. He smiled. The music soon ended and he led me back to our table.

"So you're a musician." I said lighting a cigarette.

"Yeah. Well in a small band at the moment. But one day, you'll be...."

"Buying your records at the shop?" I giggled. He smiled.

"Exactly. Ye know, for a bird you really know your stuff. I mean I've never met a bird so...perfect."

I scoffed. "I'm far from perfect Lennon. There's no such thing."

"You're right. But if there was such thing, it'd be you."

I smiled and bit my lip. He laughed and looked at his drink.

"I just can't believe I'm actually 'ere, with you tonight. I mean we just met and already I feel like...." He paused.

"Like what?" I asked intrigued. He shook his head.

"Nothing." He said downing the rest of his beer. I just looked away and noticed two girls pointing at me and John then talking to each other.
