I went home to fix myself up as Andrew finished up at work and promised to pick me up at ten. I was actually happy despite everything that happened earlier. I wanted this. To go out and have a date. It's been awhile since i've just had a good time.
I put on my best dress, which was a black mini dress with my black heels. I brushed my hair, put some makeup on and grabbed my purse. I think I looked pretty nice. I mean not beautiful like Cyn or Paul's girlfriend. Just pretty. And I was fine with that. I put some perfume on as there was a knock on the door.
"Coming!" I yelled running to the door. I opened it and smiled to see a nervous Andrew. He looked so out of place but as handsome as ever. I giggled and fixed his tie.
"You look Gorgeous." He smiled. I blushed and looked down.
"I don't know about that but...I don't look too shabby huh?"
He laughed and walked in. "Yeah you're alright."
I smacked his arm and laughed.
"You don't look too bad yourself." I said kissing his cheek.
He looked sexy I had to admit. His dark brown hair a bit messy, his black suit brought out his green eyes, his tall skinny frame hovering over me. It was odd seeing him without his black jeans and t shirts but he still looked attractive.
"So um, where to?" I asked fixing his hair.He made a face but let me fix it.
"Well maybe dinner since it's pretty late. I figured we could have a fun night out." He smiled. I blushed everytime he glanced at me. I couldn't help myself.
"So um, let's go yeah?" I smiled as we made our way to the door.
..
"God i'm so full." I said sitting back in my seat. Andrew laughed and took a drink of his wine.
"Yeah well, you ate that steak like an animal."
I laughed and threw a carrot at him. He smiled and threw one back.
"It's nice to see you smiling again. Better than looking like this." He pouted and made a face. I laughed and shoved him.
"I do not look like that!"
"Yes you do." He smiled. I stuck my tongue out at him. "Oh yeah very mature daniels."
"Says they guy who reads comic books during break."
He pointed his finger at me. "Watch yourself now."
I giggled and watched as the music began up again. Some guy singing a romantic song in french. I smiled to myself watching the violinists play.
"Um, would you like to dance?" Andrew asked.
I blushed and nodded. He got up and took my hand in his as we walked to the other couples dancing.
He placed his hands on my waist as I wrapped my arms around his shoulders. We looked at each other and looked away awkwardly. I smiled to myself and felt a little nervous as he spoke.
"Lucy I...I'm having such a great time with you tonight."
"Me too."
"But um...I want to be sure of something."
I looked up at him and closed my eyes as he kissed me. We stayed like this for a few seconds before pulling away.
"That was..."
"Yeah.."
We looked at each other and laughed. He shook his head and looked at me.
"Christ Daniels. That wasn't very romantic at all."
"How d'you think I felt??"
He smiled and tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. "Lucy, I've always liked you and..well I guess I thought we could make something more of it."
"I guess working together for such a long time really kinda dampened the chemistry huh?" I laughed.
"A little yeah. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy tonight. I'd um..like to do it again sometime."
I smiled. "Me too. But um...why don't we try that kiss again just to make sure?"
"Just can't resist my charm huh?" He smirked.
"Shut up and just kiss me Stephens." I giggled as he leaned down, kissing me for the rest of the song.
...
"Andrew?" I asked as we stood at my front door.
"Yeah?"
I sighed. "I think I'll be okay to finish that assignment."
"Are you sure? I mean I don't want you coming into my office again in tears. Then we'll have to do this all over again." He smiled. I laughed.
"Really Andrew, I'll be okay. Just promise me something?"
"Sure. What is it?"
"That at the end of the day, you'll be here for me?" I looked up at him as he gave me a warm smile.
"Of course Lucy. I'll always be here for you. As long as you're here for me."
"Of course."
He sighed and looked at me.
"Who's my number one?" He asked. I pointed at myself as he nodded. "I'll see you tomorrow okay? You owe me coffee." He winked. I made a face.
"Get your own fuckin coffee."
"Ouch. That hurts Lucy. I mean, I take you out for dinner and dancing. Then you literally beg me to kiss you and now you're denying me a cup of coffee??" He placed his hand on his chest. I rolled my eyes.
"Fine. Just one cup." I giggled.
"One cup." He echoed. He leaned down and kissed me again. I kissed back and smiled against his lips.
"Looks like you can't resist me either."
"Shut up" He laughed. We pulled away from each other and looked away.
"Well, Goodnight." I smiled.
"Goodnight Luce."
He kissed my cheek and walked away to his car. I watched as he got inside and pulled out the drive, disappearing down the road. I smiled to myself and shook my head. Before I made my way inside, I could swear I saw a vehicle slow down in front of my house as I watched it pass by.
