After the gig, Brian went backstage to talk to the guys as I stayed out, making my way to the stage and helped put the intruments back in their cases and clear the area. I sat on the edge of the stage, smoking another cig and watching people leave, when I heard a familiar voice.
"Lucy??"
I smiled and ran over to him, jumping in his arms.
"Richard!"
I hugged him tight as he held onto me, twirling me around. We laughed as we kissed each other's cheek over and over again.
"It's so good to see you!" I smiled as he set me down. "What brings you by??"
"It's nice seein ye too love. I was hoping to catch the show but looks like I missed it." He pouted. I giggled and grabbed his hand, leading him to my table. We grabbed a drink and sat across from each other.
"So, where are the lads?"
"Ah, well turns out there's a manager interested. He's speaking to them now." I nodded backstage.
"I see. Well best of luck to you lot."
"Thanks Ritchie. How are you??"
"I'm great actually. Just a bit tired at the moment. Taking a break from the band right now."
"Yeah I know what you mean. Back in December when we came back to Liverpool, the guys spent weeks apart and didn't even do any gigs for awhile. It's good to take a break though."
"Yeah. I had forgotten how nice a good nights sleep felt."
I giggled and nodded.
"How's the job?" He asked taking a drink.
I held up the papers and rolled my eyes. "Tiring as ever."
"Working and drinking. Nice combination." He laughed.
"Well thankfully i'm done with my work for now. Now I can just enjoy a drink with a friend." I smiled.
We were talking and having a laugh when the guys came out with Brian. We watched them as the came over to us.
"Aye Ringo haven't seen you in awhile! It's great to see ye mate!" George smiled.
I put out my cigarette and took my last drink of my beer. "Oh um, Brian, this is Ringo Starr."
"Ah yes, the drummer from Rory Storm and the Hurricanes yes?"
"Yes." Ringo smiled and shook his hand.
"Yeah. Lucy's mentioned you in her articles of Hamburg."
I blushed and bit my lip as Richard turned red.
"Yeah? Has she?"
"Yes. Many times." Brian laughed.
I noticed John looking a bit annoyed at this. Just then, the sound of the front door opening then closing made us all turn to see....Cynthia. I bit my lip and looked down. I knew who she was here for. It pissed me off as John went over to her.
I felt George place his hand on mine, under the table where nobody could see. I felt hurt watching her look over to us then back at John. She leaned up and kissed his cheek, staring right at me. I looked down and noticed Richard watching me. He looked sympathetic and scratched the back of his head.
"So uh, how about that weather??" He said trying to change the subject.
"Yeah I mean, it's supposedly goin to rain this weekend." Paul joined in.
"It always rains here." I said looking down.
"I thought you and John were together?" Brian asked looking back and forth at us. I looked up to see Cyn leaving and John walking over to us.
"We are. I just happen to be the other girl. Isn't that right John?" I said getting up and grabbing my things, shoving past him, leaving the cavern alone.
