Twenty-Two Days Later

September 21, 1964

Since the days and weeks passed, I've been feeling a lot better. My mind has been more clear, my focus has been back on work. Today I go to the doctor which I'm pretty nervous about.

Andrew picked me up from my place and decided to come with me to the doctors. I was a little nervous since I've still been having health issues. I just wished they would tell me something new.

"Daniels?? Lucy?"

"That's me." I said getting up and walking in the doctors office with Andrew. We sat next to each other as the doctor sat across from us.

"Hello Lucy. It's good to see you. So you've been telling me you've been having cramping in your stomach and feeling a bit dizzy."

"Yeah um, before I had painful headaches, which is why I was taking all those pills. But now the headaches have gone but i've been more nauseous."

"Well we got the results from your blood test and well, we did find something."

Me and Andrew looked at each other then at the doctor.

"Okay well, tell me." I said nervously. He nodded.

"You're pregnant."

I froze as Andrew looked at me.

"W..what?"

"You're pregnant.

"Oh god." I breathed holding my head. I looked at the doctor as he looked at me with concern. "T..that's a good thing right?? I mean then, there's nothing completely wrong with me??"

"Well...I wouldn't go that far. When we did your x-ray and other testing, we found something odd."

"What d'you mean?" Andrew asked.

"Well were not completely sure and, we don't want to misdiagnose but, we found lots of symptoms similiar to an Aneurysm. In the brain."

I bit my lip and nodded. "I um..had an idea that might be it."

"Will she be alright being pregnant and all?" Andrew asked squeezing my hand.

"Well, the only problem we have is, if she decides to have this baby, there's a possibility she might lose it with the medication she's taking. But if she stops taking the pills, she could simply risk herself from more depression or even causing the aneurysm to become more sever, which can cause the vessels to burst, internal bleeding in the brain and cause death instantly."

I just stared at the doctor and blinked. "I'll um, have to think about this."

He nodded. "That's fine miss Daniels. I'm glad you came in when you did."

Andrew thanked the doctor and walked with me out of the building. He stayed quiet as we got in the car. I sighed and turned to him.

"Are you mad?"

"Why would I be mad?"

I shrugged and looked out the window. "Because i'm pregnant."

He stayed silent for a few seconds before answering. "No. A little hurt but, not mad. Do you know who the father is?"

I nodded and sighed. "I have an idea. I don't even know if I'm going to tell him. I mean...in case I don't keep it."

Andrew started the vehicle and sat back in his seat. "Lucy I...if it was my child and nobody told me about it, I'd like to know. Instead of just sitting around your office and just wondering why she left and then you find out two months later she's living with her parents again, pregnant, and wants nothing to do with you. Sure she'll keep the kid but god knows one day she'll just come around, wanting money and..."

"Andrew? Does this have anything to do with why Janice left?"

He shook his head. "It doesn't matter. What matters right now is about your decision. What are you going to do?"

I looked at him and sighed. "I should tell him shouldn't I?"

He nodded and kissed the tip of my nose.

"That's right. Come on. I'll take you to get some breakfast first. Then we'll figure out what to do from there."

"Okay. Um Andrew?"

"Yeah?"

"Promise me you won't leave? Like..abandon me."

He leaned over and pulled me close, wrapping his arms around me.

"I'm not going anywhere. I promise."

I smiled and looked up at him as he pressed his lips to mine. After a few seconds I pulled away and sat back.

"Now, let's talk about Janice."

"There you go ruining the moment again."

I giggled and put my seatbelt on, holding his hand the entire drive.
