I sat in front of the doctor listening to him talk about the side effects to the different drugs he prescribed me to. I sighed.

"Exactly why am I suffering from these migrains?? I mean for a year now they've been going on."

"Look miss Daniels it's a mystery to us as well."

"You're a doctor. You should know."

"Yes and it's the sixties and we haven't found cures and prescriptions to certain illnesses yet."

"Look I had a friend who died from almost the same thing I'm going through now. Fuckin doctors didn't even know what he died of. They still don't."

He sighed. "Look, all we can give you are these vitamins and pills okay?"

I nodded and stood up. "Okay then."

I walked out of the doctors office and made my way to work. I remembered college. That one afternoon Stuart came late to class.

"Why don't you see a doctor, I mean if these headaches get worse?"

"I 'ave. They just give me pills, vitamins and such, I take em but they don't give."

He suffered from them for four years. Then one day...he was gone. I pushed the thought away and focused on work. I made my way into the office and walked to my desk. As I sat, I realised a blood drop drip onto my desk. Not again. I grabbed a tissue and held it to my nose as my boss came by.

"Lucy I have more details about that interview in six days...are you alright??"

"Yeah i'm fine. Go on."

"Alright. Well the interview will be next Friday at the hotel they'll be staying at. We talked to the manager and all was arranged. Just make sure you make a good q and a segment in the article and write about the experience."

I nodded. "Okay sounds lovely." I mumbled sarcastically. "Who's the band?" I asked looking around for a folder.

"Some band called The Beatles."

I froze and dropped my pencil holder and dropped a stack of papers all over the floor.

"Lucy if this will be difficult for you then by all means, I can give the assignment to someone else..."

"No um i'll be fine Andrew. Thanks." I said grabbing my stuff off the floor. My stomach grumbled.

"Have you eaten??" He sounded a bit worried.

"I ate last night when I got home."

"Lucy..come on, I'll take you to lunch alright?"

I sighed and looked up at him. I was hungry. I was too desperate to pass up a meal right now. I grabbed my purse and stood up.

"Okay."

..

I finished eating and felt full. Actually full. It's been awhile.

"Lucy..why all the pills?" Andrew asked pointing at the five small bottles. I sighed.

"Doctors don't know what's wrong with me."

"Well, what exactly do most of these help or prevent??"

"Well, ever since my parents died, I suffered from depression. I still do. Then because of that, I began suffering from insomnia. Because of the lack of sleep and depression, I began getting headaches. Headaches turned into migrains and now.. my body hurts. I'm broken in other words." I laughed.

"I um..had a cousin who suffered from a few of those same symptoms." He said looking down.

"Well, what did he do to get rid of it all? God knows I could use his secret." I said shaking my head.

"He um...he never got rid of it. He died..unexpectedly. One day he just collapsed on the subway and had a mild seizure on the spot. Doctors said there was hemorrhaging in his brain. An aneurysm I think they called it."

I looked down and began to worry a little. It sounds a lot like what happen to Stu. He didn't even make it to the hospital I was told.

"We should get back. Lots to be done today. This months issue goes out in stores and now I get to talk to students from the college downtown. Lucky me." He rolled his eyes, making me laugh.

"Thanks Andrew. For this."

He shrugged. "It's no problem. You seem more relaxed now than you were an hour ago." He smiled.

I nodded as we walked together. "I um...I'm a bit nervous to be interviewing this band coming by in a few days."

"Why?"

"I just am." I answered.

"Look Lucy, this interview will be huge for the magazine. I didn't want to say this yet but...you do this, you get the promotion everyone's after."

I looked at him in shock. "Seriously??"

"Yeah well, I think you deserve it." He smiled. I hugged him.

"This is just...wow. And hey, I didn't even have to sleep with you!" I laughed as he flicked me on the head.

"Ha Ha Daniels. Just get to fuckin work."
