Oh Well

27 4 4

They draw the water,
Day by day
For their own consumption,
That's what they say.

They pull and pull,
As much as they need
They drain it out,
To satisfy their greed.

They draw the water,
Day by day
Buckets and buckets,
They take away.

Glass by glass,
They use some more
They vanquish the drops,
As they pour.

They waste and waste,
But who can tell
When the water's all gone,
They'll say, 'oh well.'

We draw and draw from the well, but we never give back.

The same way, we constantly take the people around us for granted.
We drain out their feelings.
We wash out our pain with their help but never give in return.

From now on, be their lifeguard when they're drowning in their sorrows. Hand them a bucket so that you can pour your advice to them too.

Appreciate them. When they need you, be there for them too.
