We got to my mothers house and it was huge. "Damn ma this is what I'm trying to live in" I said as we all got out the truck.

I woke up Y/N. "Come on Baby" I said opening the door for her as she got out and kissed her head getting our bags as William helped me.

Y/N carried sterling to the house as my mother unlocked the door and we walked in looking around.

"Follow me to your room" my mother said as we headed upstairs following her. "Sterling can sleep in here" she said as
Y/N laid him down in the bed then she showed us to our room.

"This isn't the master bedroom?" Y/N asked shocked "oh baby you haven't seen anything" my mother said before she giggled "get some rest I know you're not feeling too good" she said before kissing her head.

"Everyone will be over for dinner" she said as we nodded. "And please no baby making on these sheets they costed a lot" she said as we laughed and she walked out closing the door behind her.

Y/N sat on the bed looking at me as I looked at her "you going to tell me what's wrong? You snapped on William and he ain't even do nothing to you" she stated as I handed her my phone and she looked at the email reading it and watching the video.

"Did your trainer in Wakanda leak this or somebody out there leaked this to where your everywhere?" She asked as I nodded "I thought they were just sending it to people for training but they were trying to make competition" I stated as she sighed.

"I know they said some disrespectful shit but it isn't a real reason to fight" she said "Nah but they laughing like I'm a joke and putting that shit in papers" I explained.

"But Erik Someone is always going to talk shit do it when you have the training don't just jump in the ring" she stated "yeah but they speaking on my name and haven't even seen me fight" I said as she sighed.

"I knew you would have to fight sooner or later but please just be careful" she said as I sat next to her "I will just trust me this first fight is going to be a breeze" I said trying to ease her mind.

"Now just get some rest" I said kissing her lips as she laid down. I turned the TV on for her and walked out closing the door behind me.

I went downstairs seeing William and my mother in the kitchen laughing. "Ma can I talk to you two?" I asked as she nodded sitting at the island.

"I want to take that fight with Ricky" I stated "Erik you just got here" my mother said "and you're not even ready for that" William said. "Ma i know but I am I was training out back in Wakanda and you seen how they were making me seem as if I was a joke" I stated.

"You need more training you just can't go into the ring thinking you know everything when you don't" William said.

"Well y'all brought me out here so I can fight so let me do it" I stated as my mother sighed "I'm going to take it with or without y'all" I said about to walk away.

"Did you talk to your girl about it because she's glowing" will stated as I turned around "what you say about my girl?" I asked walking up as my mother blocked us.

"Erik sit down" she said as I glared at William "Sit down" she said through her teeth as I sat down slowly eyeing William.

"Have you talked to her because you two might be godparents of sterling and you two didn't make him but he is still y'all child and you need to calm down and not be ready to fight when they say something you don't like you have a family" my mother started off.

"I'm letting you box because it's something you like and want to do to follow you dreams but you don't fight because they speak down on you, you fight for your family and fight for them to be alright like you said you wanted to do in the beginning." My mother said.

"Don't let these critics and everyone get to you man, that's what they like to do to stir some mess up" William said.

"But they laughed at me as if I was a joke they're making me a joke" I stated. "Have you even seen Ricky's highlights or know anything about him?" William asked as I was quiet.

"But-" I stated "you a grown ass man I'm not going to tell you what to do but I also ain't burying my son either i let you do this but don't let your pride and ego get in the way because they need you at the end of the day" my mother said pointing upstairs.

"Besides you might want to pick another fight based on what's going on"
My mother said before drinking some wine.

"What's going on?" I asked as she smirked "You'll soon find out" she stated as I looked at her weird.

I was really feeling sick maybe I did need to go see somebody. I was laying in the bed texting jasmine she said she was going over her mothers house in a little bit and she said we'll meet up later because I did miss her and I needed to talk to her about stuff.

I turned on the TV as it was already in HBO sports. They were talking about the same dude Ricky , Erik was talking about he wanted to fight. I was iffy but now as I listened to them talk about Ricky and show clips of him fighting I didn't want Erik fighting him.

They started talking about that Ricky basically killed someone in the ring and was never charged for it because that's what comes with boxing.

I sat up attentively watching the channel and watching the blows the man he was fighting took in slow motion. I hurried and turned the tv off as a few tears fell from my eyes. I don't even know what I just got myself into.

Erik came in closing the door behind him as he looked kind of pissed. "What's up?" I asked laying back down as he sat next to me on the bed. "I'm going to take that fight" he stated as I sat up "Erik think about what you doing, I'm not saying don't but at least do other fights before this one to get you comfortable" I explained.

Erik shook his head "nah I got to take this one" he said as I got my iPad looking up Ricky and his opponent he killed in the ring video then showed it to Erik as he watched.

I had to look away after a while he paused it "I'm more skilled than him though" Erik said as I sighed "Erik that's not the point I'm trying to make. Combat in the army and boxing is two different things Baby this man died" I stated in all seriousness.

"I'm going to be fine Baby trust me I'm about to go to the gym and end all of this bullshit" he said as I sighed "you said you'll always be with me" he brought up.

"Yeah I'm with you" I stated as he grabbed my hand "You trust me right?" He asked as I nodded "then I got you , I got sterling and I got us " he said holding me.
