16 | smile

"You know, you should smile sometimes."

Yoongi looks up upon hearing a familiar voice on his side. 

Oh, she's here to annoy me again. Please give me patience.

He frowns the moment he saw her smiling at him, turning his head away from her. She chuckles at his obvious adoration towards her.

"What are you even doing here?" he spats, still not looking at her.

She is about to answer when he suddenly holds up his hand to stop her.

Ugh, what's the point of answering his question when he doesn't even want it? What's the point of asking when he is the one who will answer his own question anyway? Yoongi is confusing sometimes, oh gosh.

"Wait, let me fucking answer that question. You're here to annoy me again, right?" he bitterly said. She rolls her eyes at his dramatic behavior.

"Of course not! I'm here to accompany you. You look so lonely."

Yoongi shakes his head disapprovingly while chuckling. Does she think I buy that shit?

"Yoo Jiae, first of all, I don't need your company. Second, I'm not lonely. Alone is different from lonely. And lastly, please you're annoying me everyday so can you just leave me alone?"

Jiae stares at him with wide eyes when he spat those last words. Those harsh words. She knows he hates her. So much, that she clearly knows. But, she still wants to be friends with him. For years, Jiae has been by his side, cheering him up and probably annoying him. She means well, she just wants to be friends with him. 

There's something with Yoongi that makes her want to stay by his side. She still doesn't know, but whatever it is, she wants it.

For years, Yoongi has been vocal with his hatred towards her. And for all those years, she keeps on tolerating it. Him. 

Jiae doesn't even know why he hates her so much. She is so nice to him so why does he hate her?

Yoongi frowns at his own harsh tone. He doesn't mean to say it like that. He turn towards her and at that moment, he regrets it.

He sees the hurt in her eyes. Those eyes...

He needs to apologize. In all these years, he was never harsh towards her. He won't even shout or even raise his voice. He would never. Until today...

Yoongi opens his mouth to apologize, but Jiae stops him by standing up.

She tries to smile at him and say, "You should smile, Yoongi. You deserve to smile," and just like that she turns to leave.

Yoongi stares at her back. At her leaving. He knows that he should run after her. To stop her. To apologize for everything. To let her see him smile. Because she deserves it.

And so he did.
