Will this ever work?
Sujeong swallowed. Her hands became clammy. Her mind in a buzz. Anxiety starting to crept in to her body. His body was close to her as they made their way through the swarm of drunk bodies. She could feel his arms around her shoulders, trying to protect her from the buzzing crowd around them. She really got it bad for Jeon Jungkook.
Would their plan truly work?
She tried to calm herself as they finally made their way to the kitchen where Jiyeon was waiting for them. Beside her, Jungkook scowled.
"Why are we here again?" he grumbled.
Sujeong couldn't help but giggle at his cuteness. "We need to be like 'normal' college students for once. Also, they got great booze here," she replied, grinning.
Jungkook shook his head. "If this is what 'normal' is, then I don't want it. But I do want the great booze," he muttered before walking towards the table where the alcohol laid out.
Sujeong chuckled as she sauntered to her friend, who was drinking from a big ass carton milk. "I can't believe you attend college parties but wouldn't even drink beer. You won't even drink juice, just milk," she told her, shaking her head.
Jiyeon pouted. "You know I don't like alcohol," she said, "And milk is the best! Right, Jungkook?"
The said guy just nodded, drinking his―well, not milk―beer. Jiyeon giggled. "He's so cute."
"Who is?" a deep voice asked behind them. Sujeong rolled her eyes, knowing who it was.
"Jungkookie," Jiyeon answered, turning her head cutely.
Taehyung snorted. "Yeah, right. I bet Sujeong agrees with that," he playfully replied, earning him an elbow to his ribs and a menacing glare from the blonde.
"Shut up, Kim," she snapped before leaning towards him, "Why don't you go to your crush and annoy her?"
He shifted. "Well, she's busy chatting with her friends right now, so I decided to annoy you instead," he then whispered, "Have you already done some moves to yours?"
"You know I haven't."
"i knew you would be scared, but I didn't know you'd be scared scared."
Thankfully, Jiyeon was too immersed in a conversation about food with a sophomore to hear the both of them. Just in case, Sujeong dragged Taehyung to a more deserted side of the room.
Glancing nervously at her best friend―who was busy playing games in his phone―, she leaned to Taehyung. "i know I'm like a wimp right now, okay? But, if you're in my fucking situation you'd know what I feel. He's my best friend since middle school, Taehyung. Middle school. You'd think it'd be easy to say, 'Hey, I fucking like you since forever, by the way' to him when our friendship lies between us?" she ranted.
Taehyung studied her for a moment, eyes intense on her. She couldn't help but squirm a little because damn, those eyes were something. He then spoke, "I understand where you come from. Why not take things slow? It's not necessary for you to immediately tell him how you feel. Why not test the waters if taking your relationship to the next level would work?"
"I guess. But, I don't know how. What if he really doesn't like me and only sees me as a sister?"
"What if he doesn't?" he gave her a look, "You gotta take a leap of faith sometimes."
She grumbled. "Ugh, remind me again why I said yes to you."
"Because, you know our plan will work because I'm the best," he joked, a boxy grin adoring his gorgeous face.
