"So what if he's here? He's nothing, okay?"

She then put on her bravest face and curled her fits on the sink. She muttered to herself once again to comfort herself, "You got this, Sujeong. You're the bravest bitch I know."

You see, she was attending a college party with her friends and just enjoying her night when a certain someone came. Someone she never wanted to see ever again.

But, again, fate wasn't nice to her in the first place. Her ex came to the party with a new woman by his side. She didn't want to admit it, but she was jealous. And she hated feeling like that. Not moving on from him while he was there happily with his new girl.

Her friend, Myungeun, subtly coughed. "I can't believe he's here," she mused.

Yein elbowed her before leaning towards Sujeong. She grabbed her waist and said, "Don't worry about him, sis. He's a total trash and we know that. At least you're over him now."

Sujeong kept quiet for a moment, just observing him before excusing herself from their circle. "I need to go to the restroom for a moment."

"Do you want us to go with you?" Jisoo worriedly asked the younger one.

Sujeong chuckled. "I'm just gonna go refresh myself. Don't worry, I'll be back."

Now, still comforting herself to not to cry and to move on, she stood by the sink and kept on muttering encouraging words.

"You can fucking do this, Sujeong," she determinedly said, "He's not worth it."

Feeling satisfied, she turned around to leave when something caught her eyes.

A book.

It was no ordinary book. It was large, black, and looked oldalmost ancient. The book was situated at the sink. She moved towards it and grazed her hand over the cover as if she was lured by it.

"How come I didn't see this when I came in?" she muttered to herself. "Daemonium? What is that?"

She found it odd that no author nor publisher were present in the cover. It made her wonder why didn't she notice it before. Maybe because she was busy being pathetic? That could be.

As if in a trance, she opened the book. Everything went still. The atmosphere went hot. But, Sujeong didn't even notice it. She was busy flipping the empty pages.

"Wait, no writing? What kind of book is this?" she asked aloud.

"A book of mine," a deep voice spoke.
