December 03, 2018.

That day. The day that changed everything.

It was actually Jiyeon's anticipated wedding day. Though it was just a small ceremony with their close friends and relatives, it was a very important moment for all of them. Especially her.

It was a rather painful moment for Jimin, who was the best friend of the bride. Why? Because it was a known fact that the lad was in love with the bride for years. He couldn't believe how he still got to hide his feelings for her. He supposed after years of masking the truth, he became a great pretender in front of her.

He knew it was too late. Too too late.

He felt pathetic for still loving her even after all those years. All those sad, pathetic years of unrequited love.

Jimin let out a sigh, feeling frustrated and regretful because of his dumb decisions. How dumb could he be for not confessing his feelings for her? In those years together, how could he not say those three simple words: I love you

He swept his hair back and walk towards the room of the bride for she asked him to. He adjusted his tie before knocking the door.

"Who is it?" one of the bridesmaids asked.

"It's Jimin."

He heard Jiyeon say, "Let him come in. He's my best friend."

The door opened and Jimin was dumbfounded at the scene before him.

In front of the mirror, Jiyeon was adjusting her necklace―the necklace Jimin gave her during their college years―looking like the beautiful being she was. Jimin was enticed by her beauty and couldn't look away from her.

"Hey, Jimin. Stop staring or you'll melt the bride," Mijoo, one of the bridesmaids, teased.

Upon hearing her words, Jimin blinked then coughed awkwardly, blush gracing his cheeks. The other bridesmaids snickered and giggled at him. Jiyeon felt her cheeks getting warm and she thanked makeup for hiding the warm red blush on her cheeks.

"Shut up, Mijoo. Please, just go to Hoseok," he said exasperatedly.

Mijoo chuckled at him and replied, "You know I always will." She then gave him a wink, making him roll his eyes.

"Jimin, I'm glad you're here," Jiyeon spoke with a gentle smile. Jimin's heart fluttered.

He rubbed his nape, trying so hard not to smile so wide. "You know I'm here to see you. Look at you, you're so...beautiful," he replied, eyes sparkling while looking at her like she was the only he saw in that room. Jiyeon looked at him in the eyes, her cheeks warming.

"I- Thank you," she gave him a wide smile that took his breath away. Everything she did always took his breath away.

Jimin cleared his throat. "Um, I just want to say..."

Jiyeon stared at him curiously, urging him to continue, "What?"

Idiot, you better not tell her your feelings for her. You'll ruin her wedding.

He softly shook his head. "I just want to say that I'm proud of you and I'm thankful that you're my best friend. I-I love you so much, always remember that," he said. His eyes turned glassy at the end. He wanted to smack himself for being dramatic.

This is it. This is the last day he would love her.

Jiyeon became emotional and smiled at him. "Aw, Jimin. You were supposed to say that at the reception later. Now I'm going to cry, you moron. But, thank you for being there by my side always. I love you too," she then jumped at his arms.
