"Ugh. This mission is fucked up."
Taehyung groaned, messing up his hair with his free hand as he tried to locate the criminal. The woman beside laughed.
"Yeah right. I don't even know who to blame, Namjoon or Yoongi or just the bastard, himself," she lightly said as her fingers hovered above the keyboard to create a message to the other members.
"I'd say the latter, but don't forget Mijoo and Hoseok," he chided, "those two are the spies in that asshole's 'company', but they didn't confirm if the minion will really show up."
Sujeong nodded. "Yeah, but I think we're in the situation where we should not blame anyone except the bastard," she said, clicking her tongue. Taehyung chuckled beside her.
"You started the blaming game though."
"I was just frustrated, but not anymore," she said defensively causing the man beside her to smirk.
"Okay. If that's what you want," he teased. Sujeong just rolled her eyes at him before ignoring him. A smile was still gracing his face.
After a few moments of silence and failure of locating the bastard, Taehyung cleared his throat, breaking the silent and awkward atmosphere around them.
"So, what are you doing after this?" he casually―too casual― asked her.
Sujeong continued to work on her laptop, not even looking at him. "I'm gonna go home and sleep, why?"
Shrugging, Taehyung replied, "Uh, nothing. Just wondering."
Narrowing her eyes at him, Sujeong decided to ignore him. Taehyung turned his body to stare at her intently.
"Stop staring. It's rude to stare, you know," she chastised. He chuckled softly under his breath.
"It isn't when the person who's staring at you is as gorgeous as me," he smugly retorted.
Glancing away from her work, she snorted at his reply. "Really? Yeah, you're attractive and all, but I've seen much better," she shot back which earned her a glare from Taehyung.
"Well, who the hell is much better than this face?" he asked while gesturing his face, smiling like an idiot. Sujeong actually laughed at his face.
"The guy I saw at the café yesterday," she answered dreamily, "His jawline, his eyes, his high nose, and his damn lips were all so beautiful. I couldn't even believe a gorgeous man like him exists."
Taehyung snorted. "Sweetheart, I think you're talking about me," he smugly told her while raising his eyebrow.
Sujeong let out a loud laugh, actually finding it funny how narcissistic he was. "No, really. You can't beat him with his beautiful face. I bet Picasso sculpted his face well."
Scoffing, Taehyung leaned closer to her. "Are you saying I'm ugly?" he asked her in a low voice.
That stopped Sujeong from laughing. Smirking, she also leaned in. "I'm saying you're a narcissist," she huskily replied.
"I'm not. I'm just stating the obvious," he said, glancing at her lips.
Sujeong lowly chuckled. "Then, you've done a horrible job at seeing what is real."
Glancing again at her lips, he licked his own. "Really?" he huskily asked.
Also staring at his lips, she replied breathlessly, "Really."
Moving closer, their lips an inch away from each other. They leaned in more until no space was in between them except their lips, their hands around each other. Their lips were centimeters away when...
Ring!
They both jumped away with their cheeks both resembling like cherry. They turned their gaze away from each other. Taehyung awkwardly rubbed his nape, muttering, "Your phone."
Sujeong hastily grabbed her phone, still blushing hard. "Hello? Oh, yes.."
When the phone call was done, they both sat stiffly beside each other. Sujeong was the one who broke the ice between them.
"U-Um, that was Jiae. She said that we will be having a meeting tomorrow regarding the upcoming mission and she told me to t-tell you," she shyly said. Taehyung just nodded, not trusting the words that would come out of his mouth.
They both turned back to their gadgets, ignoring each other. The atmosphere was back to being awkward and still. The clacking of keyboard was surrounding them, making him feel frustrated.
Taehyung sighed in frustration. "Do you want to just, I don't know, get out of here?" he asked loudly.
Sujeong snapped her head towards him. "W-What?" she asked with wide eyes.
He rubbed his neck nervously. "I just...I'm hungry right now. So, do you want to go to that new diner with me?" he asked, not meeting her eyes.
"Okay."
He looked up, his eyes wide with shock. "W-What? I-I mean, really?" he tried to act casual, but the grin on his face contradicted.
Sujeong nodded, blushing. "Yes, of course."
"B-But, I thought you―"
She cut him off by kissing his cheek softly. "Just please shut up. I'm starving," she said, grinning at him.
The young man sat there with his face so red that Sujeong worried he might explode.
"The guy you saw yesterday, is he real?"
"Um, yes?"
"Who?"
"You."
