29 | i love u always

Four years later.

"The talented and award-winning artist of our generation is here to announce the winner of Best Actress Award, Jeon Jungkook."

The said man went out of the backstage and walked with charisma towards the stage. He waved briefly at the cheering crowd, smiling widely. 

"It is an honor and privilege for me to be part of this wonderful night. I've watched the movies this year and I was awed at how amazing those actresses are. Like Miss Seo Jisoo, who did so wonderful in her movie, Soulmates." 

The crowd cheered as the said actress was shown smiling shyly and mouthing a 'thank you' towards Jungkook which he returned with a smile.

He continued, "And also, the ever wonderful, Gong Hyo Jin. You never disappoint us with your acting ever. You literally killed it with your movie this year. The lovely Yoo Jiae is also nominated for this award with her beautiful performance in Psycho. My wife and I were really hooked by your acting."

Upon hearing him mentioning his wife, the audience cheered which made Jungkook grinned cheekily.

"And of course, we shouldn't forget my lovely wife, Jeong Yein, who is also nominated for this award," he said lovingly. People clapped and cheered as the camera focused on Yein, who was grinning shyly.

"You did an amazing job with your role in Alone. You made everyone cry with your incredible acting. You are amazing, I love you," he complimented her sincerely, not tearing his eyes away from her. Yein smiled widely and blew him a kiss which made Jungkook shyly grin.

"Okay, I should stop complimenting my wife before everyone would think that I'm in favor of her and would only give her the award," he jokingly said, causing the audience to laugh. 

He pulled out the envelope and opened. "And the Best Actress Award goes to..."

When he read the name of the winner, he grinned. "Congratulations, baby! Jeong Yein!"

Yein brought a hand on her mouth, not expecting that she would win. Actors and actresses all stood up and bowed. She bowed right back at them, walking up to the stage where her husband was waiting for her with his arms wide open. She literally ran towards him―not even bothered by her gown―and jumped in his arms. Jungkook lifted her off the ground and spun her around while laughing. He set her down―her still in his arms―and kissed her forehead lovingly. The audience clapped, cheered, some actors even whistled.

"I'm so proud of you, baby," he whispered. Yein teared up hearing those words from him. 

She briefly gave him a soft kiss on his lips and whispered, "Thank you so much. I love you."

"And I love you," he said, eyes filled with pride and love. Yein grinned and pulled away from him to give her acceptance speech with Jungkook staring at her lovingly behind her.

"...And I want to thank my husband, the love of my life, Jeon Jungkook," she said with tears flowing down her face―she had been crying since the start of her speech―and Jungkook leaned to wipe it. The audience once again awed. 

She looked at him in the eyes and said, "I don't know why you chose me out of everyone. I was immature, bratty, unprofessional―" Jungkook's eyes glinted with amusement. 

Yein rolled her eyes before continuing, "―Yeah, yeah, I admit it all. You win. I just want to thank you for loving, caring and cherishing me after all those years. I am so thankful of you for everything. Please remember that I― we―will always love you. I love you always, baby!" she then turned away from him to end her speech. 

Jungkook was confused. We? What did she mean with 'we'?

When her speech ended, Jungkook wrapped his arm around her waist to guide her backstage. 

"Baby, what do you mean with 'we'?" he asked. Yein looked like a child who got caught stealing candies. She recovered rather quickly, clearing her throat.

"O-Oh, nothing. I just meant y-your fans. Yeah, your fans. You know that," she said dismissively. Actually, Jungkook didn't know that. Yein never ever included his fans on her speech before. 

"Are you sure?" he wasn't convinced. Yein awkwardly laughed.

"Yes, I'm sure. Don't think too much about it, baby."

"Well then, okay," he said, still not convinced by her. Yein just gave him a forced smile and affectionately kissed him on the cheek.

"Let's drink red wine later to celebrate," he casually offered as Yein was being attacked by her makeup artists. 

"Uh, I can't. I mean, I don't want to. I'm trying a new diet," she said while avoiding his sharp eyes. This caught his attention.

"But, you love red wine. You said it's good on your diet though," he said, confused by her reply.

Yein panicked. "U-Um, well, like I said, I'm trying a new diet and red wine isn't included in it."

Jungkook stared at her for a moment―Yein tried so hard to act casual and avoided his gaze―and nodded slowly. "Okay."

Yein breathed, "Yeah, okay."
