Clementine sped down the road with all of us onboard the truck. nearly going 90 on the road! Patience and I were doing all we could to support Kristen as she was approaching closer to death.

"We'll be there soon, Kristen. Just sit tight." I told her. Raph gazed through the back window of the truck to see us on the inside. He worried so much for his girlfriend and wishes he could take her place.

We thought Kristen would have more time with us, but her candle is going to her blown out soon.

Roan and Nate kept up the pace while we tracked this deer down on the trail. I heard the boys laughing and joking around and it honestly got too annoying and risked us losing dinner. I groaned. "Guys, shut up, please. What if the deer is nearby and you both scare it off?"

"Sorry, Reg." Nate chuckled and lowers his volume with the male mutant lizard beside him.

Young men and mutants... They don't grow up until something exciting happens. Hoping they will stay quiet. My focus is still on this deer that is possibly close by. The bushes are itchy, we're probably getting ticks all over our body and hair, but it'll be worth it when we get this animal.

Just moments before we got a sound coming through the brush, an engine is heard at least a good distance to listen to it zoom by us. The boys and I halt on our path to exchange glances and wonder where the engine was coming from.

"What do you reckon?" Nate asked any of us. "That car headed toward EdgePort?"

Roan scratched his dark green scales on his arm and wasn't sure what to think of it. He knew the road this vehicle drove on led to the community and began to worry about his friends and family back home. "Should we head back? I'm getting uncomfortable with what just passed by..."

"Guys, the guards at home will take care of it. Let's just finish this hunt and we'll be back later." I told the human and mutant, then continue where we left off on today's objective.

Amber and Kodiak were at each other's necks outside the cabin door. Amber nagged and nagged about how annoyed she is toward her brother's behavior and still hated how he acted. The only answer she gets is 'I don't know'. To her, that isn't an answer. "Knock it off! We both know what happens when you get angry. Remember the time..." She trailed off and thought of the past where Kodi made a huge mistake before the infection. "...The time you attacked Granny as a fox and sent her to the hospital to get twelve stitches?"

"We were thirteen, A. I didn't know how to control my abilities and neither could you." Kodi said. "And that was years ago!"

Amber replied quickly to that. "Yeah, four years ago! Who knows what could happen now that you're much bigger and mature?"

"I can control it." Kodi says. "I got it under control."

"We'll see about that." Amber twisted the doorknob and pushes through the door to see Osa pacing in the living room. Kodi stayed outside. "I talked to him." She told her.

"And what?" Osa says.

Amber takes a look at her brother outside the cabin and back to Osa. "Be careful." She softly told her, meaning it and hoping Osa will take this advice. What could be so bad about Kodiak? All he did was let his temper off the leash a little bit and brought it back right away. Kodi steps in through the door and shut it, glaring at Osa with his ears lowering in disappointment. Disappointed in himself.
