This Ashe x McCree thingy is a series now.
Also I found a funny picture that fit the fanfic lol.
Ok you can read now.
Narrator POV:
She would be lying if she said she didn't miss him.
Since last Christmas, he told her he'd write her a letter. It's been four months now and nothing has shown up to her mailbox. She's looked in there everyday to see if there was some sort of note that wasn't a magazine or newspaper. Nothing.
This only made her furious. How could she have trusted his words so easily? Her parents have broken so many promises to her; why would she expect McCree to be any different? She slammed the mailbox shut, the metal clanked together. B.O.B touched her shoulder in concern but was immediately shoved out of the way as Ashe stomped her way into her room. Locking the door, Ashe sank to the ground and leaned on the door.
"What am I doing?" She mumbled.
Her feeling towards this cowboy were pretty complex. There were so many things she hated about him: the way he teased her, his stupid smile, how he made her feel dumb most of the time, and that he left the gang. Yet she drunkenly kissed him. Yet she didn't kill him every time she had the opportunity to. Yet here she was, waiting for some dumb letter that he promised her. How degrading, to wait around like a housewife you would see in the black and white pictures. Or a princess waiting for her prince to come save her. Disgusting. Pitiful. Waste of time.
Like Ashe would let herself become that. She had a gang to lead, weapons to steal, banks to rob. There was so much she could do with B.O.B by her side and her Viper in hand. So much damage.
Ashe got up from the ground and took a deep breath as she opened the door.
"Stay focused, Elizabeth." She scolded herself.
She strolled down the hallway confidently: her head held high, her arms swinging side to side. Truly a woman of business and only business. B.O.B then found her and tagged along behind her as he normally would. Ashe didn't even look behind her to know that he was there, his loud metal footsteps were a huge sign.
With every step she took, her mind rewired itself back to it's normal routine. She would think about the gang and what the gang needs to have done in order to get the dough. Then she would think about B.O.B and look back on if he needed to be fixed or have a few upgrades. Lastly, she would sometimes wonder how her parents were doing. The answer was always well off without her.
This kept her going for the rest of the day. McCree would stumble into her mind for a brief moment until she let out a sigh and continued on with checking the gang. Her and B.O.B researched weapon shipment orders and their locations. As she dragged her finger through the map, her eyes spotted Route 66. A heavy sigh came from her mouth as she recalled her bitter reunion. Then she felt B.O.B's cold metal hands touch hers, she looked up at him with sadness in her burgundy eyes. B.O.B knew Ashe since he was assigned to her when she was just a baby, he was built incapable of speaking yet his action spoke clearly. "I miss him, too." seemed to be what he was trying to say.
"I don't miss him, B.O.B." She lied. B.O.B tilted his head to her response. He could see right through her lie. Ashe pulled her hand away from B.O.B's grasp, "And so what if I do? I have a gang to take care of, responsibilities. I can't just mope around and do nothing!"
Ashe grew angrier by the second, her mind seemed to spiral into confusion yet again. She got up from her chair, pain shot her in the head. One hand held onto the chair, the other rubbing her head. B.O.B jumped out of his chair in surprise. This only made her angrier.
"Sit down! I'm not some weak child anymore! I can handle myself!"
B.O.B flinched to sit down but refused to obey her. Ashe eyes opened in surprise.
"W-What are you doing?! You are supposed to do as I say!"
B.O.B walked over to Ashe, she was as still as a deer in headlights. As he lifted his arms, she closed her eyes tight. Then she felt metal arms surrounding her, wrapping her into a hug.
"It's ok to care about him." was what B.O.B was trying to say. Ashe slowly fell into the hug, crying into the omnic's arms.
"I'm sorry, B.O.B. I do miss him after all." She chuckled to herself as she cries another tear of mascara. B.O.B took a tissue box from off the desk and gave it too her. Ashe quietly thanks him and wipes off the blackened tears from her cheeks. "I can be so stubborn at times, huh?"
B.O.B nodded, making Ashe chuckle.
Bang Bang
There was a knock at the door. Ashe wiped off the last of her mascara and opened the door to see one of the gang members holding a letter.
"Ashe, I found this letter addressed to you in my mailbox. Seems urgent." He hands her the letter. The back of the letter says To Ashe in messy hand writing.
"Thank you for delivering this to me. You can take your leave now."
The gang member leaves and Ashe shuts the door, examining the letter a bit. It's stained with beer and the paper was wrinkled. Definingly McCree.
Ashe rips open the letter with her black finger nails and pulls out the note.
Calamity Ashe
Hope you weren't too anxious to get my letter. You are always so impatient. Reminds me of that time when you rushed into the fight between two different gangs just eager to land a hit on someone. You ended up with a blow to the knee and a black eye. Don't say I didn't warn you because I did and you went out anyways. I miss that sometimes, how you rush into everything head first. It's entertaining to watch.
Past few months have been a bit hard for me in terms of money. I spent almost every dollar in bailing you and B.O.B out that I needed to get to work right away. I found a few bandits with bounties on their heads but they didn't cost much money. It was decent cash at least. I don't regret paying off your bail though, spending time with you again is better than any other present I could of gotten for Christmas. Maybe next time we meet, you could try to stay out of trouble? I don't think my bank account could take another hit like that again.
See you soon,
Jesse McCree
P.S: Did B.O.B like the new hat I got him for Christmas? Let me know when you write back to me.
Ashe's red lips turn into a grin as she finished reading the letter. Her eyes meet B.O.B's and she gives him the letter to read. As he holds onto the letter, Ashe sits back into her chair and pulls out a piece of paper. Grabbing a pencil from the corner of the desk, she eagerly jots down words on words of sentences. The lead of the pencil tapping rhythmically against the paper. She was impatient as ever to write McCree back.
Next Part Soon..............
