McCree's New Name and I'm a day late to responding oh god

His name is Cole Cassidy and I don't know what to feel. I had a feeling that something with a C would be at play, but wow. I'm kinda sad that the Mc jokes are Mcgone. Mcdonalds is gone. My Mcboy is now a C man and that sounds worse. 

BUT people can change McAshe's ship name to Cole and Ashes which is cool. But still, mega sad. I just don't like change. RIP McDonalds.

The name does fit in a weird sense. If I didn't already associate him as Jesse, I feel like this new name would fit. The in-lore explanation itself just makes me think of Flynn Rider in Tangled when he revealed his real name was Eugene Fitzherbert because he wanted to be seen as a cool thief that does all these adventurous things. But Cole's real name still got some plot holes, like in the Deadlock Rebels book he introduced himself as Jesse McCree to Ashe far before he became an outlaw. Could he have decided on going under this alias when he got arrested and met Ashe behind bars? Probably. Still, the post itself made it seem like the alias would have been something Ashe would be aware of since she's the one that roped him into an outlaw lifestyle. Because McCree's past past is something never discussed and he has shown to not like talking about it, this could mean that he was some kind of outlaw before he met Ashe. Maybe not an extreme outlaw, but probably had to steal from others in order to survive as an orphan. The alias Jesse McCree could have been who he wanted to be as a kid who wanted to trade their life to become someone else. I would like to see what playoverwatch.com says lore-wise on the idea of his alias, and maybe more info on how the Omnic Crisis impacted him at a young age. There might be some new dialogue about the name, too, so it will definitely be interesting to hear how they plan to integrate this into the game's lore.

But you know what sucks above it all?

I don't typically like revealing what I'm working on anymore because I feel like if I reveal my projects, then my chances of throwing the towel on them increase 70%. However, I'm excited about the progress I'm making with it so I'll tell ya'll. I'm writing a McCree x Fem Reader story that'll be it's own separate story. Started the project two months ago but I have been picking it up again recently. I won't reveal the plot or anything yet and I won't submit any chapters until I have finished writing + editing it, but now I'm just like: god his fucking name is Cole now. It won't alter the story, but it's somewhat inconvenient. I might implement this 'alias' and 'real name' thing since it does fit the context of the story. 

Also for my other fanfics with this cowboy, am I gonna have to call them Cassidy x Readers now?

 Cman x reader = cursed. 

But yea I'm gonna recite a line that represents my current feelings as of now:

I only know it from that one vine I am sorry that I have never fully listened to the song.

Overall: I see it, I understand it, but all at the same time I lowkey don't want it.

Maybe writing a fanfic making fun of Cassidy will make me feel better.
