Chapter 24 Peter's POV

"Well first I'm going to need to call S.H.I.E.L.D Headquaters in New York to see if they can find out what's going on," Nick tells Flash and I as he gets out of his seat and motions for us to follow him out of his office.

As we walk in the hallway, Nick asks, "So what brings you here, Flash?"

"I'm just supporting my friend, sir," Flash replies.

"I see, but this is a very serious situation and I....."

"I know, that's why I want to help him. That's what friends do."

"You guys were enemies part of your high school year. What makes you best friends now?" "

"What gives you the right to stalk my life just because I have a special ability," I say to Nick.

Nick looks at me but doesn't say anything. Flash just answers instead.

"People can change. I was a jerk before. Peter's a great guy and I enjoy being friends with him."

We're silent for a moment. Then Nick asks him. "Are you good with strategy?"

"A little," Flash says. "Peter has more of the brains though. I've got strength. May not be super strength but it's better than nothing."

"If you insist," Nick says.

We enter a room with a lot of people on a lot of computers. This must be where they find their information.

"Tori, I need you to call S.H.I.E.L.D in New York please," Nick tells a lady at a computer.

She obeys him and calls. Nick tells her what to say. She listens to whoever's on the phone and starts typing on her computer. For a few minutes I see her listening on the phone, looking at her computer. A moment later, she finally hangs up.

She gets up out of her seat and says, "Harry Osborn is creating his own army called, 'The Sinister Six', which includes him, Black Cat, Rhino...."

"I thought I destroyed his machine!" I interrupt.

"Yeah, well Harry managed to make him a new one," she tells me.

"Back to what I was saying, his army includes him, Black Cat, Rhino, Doctor Octopus, Sandman, and Goblin Girl, which is going to be Gwen if we don't save her. He wants to make her bad because he thinks she knows where our special medicine is, so he's wants her to show him where it is so that he can have it for himself. Meanwhile, he's going to send out Rhino, Doctor Octopus, and Sandman to attack the city to distract you from saving Gwen and S.H.I.E.L.D Headquarters. It's a good thing you told us because now the S.H.I.E.L.D in New York will be cautious of Harry attacking them."

"Thanks for the information," Nick tells Tori. "Man, it's a shame the Avengers are busy because we could really use them right now."

"Who are the avengers?" I ask.

"A group of superheroes that work together sometimes and are more mature," he replies.

"You seriously think I'm not mature?"

"Not staying away from your girlfriend when she needs to be protected and getting her into bad situations is not being mature."

"You're blaming this on me?!" I exclaim. "Harry was already after her because Felicia was Gwen's roommate. That has nothing to do with me!"

"Yeah, but you're just a kid! You're just not wise about some of the decisions you make."

"I may be younger than some of those super heroes, but I am mature! Both of my parents died. My uncle died. I thought Gwen died. I went threw a lot! But obviously you don't care because you're the one who tried to keep her away from me. And I do make wise decisions. Choosing to stay with Gwen is the wisest decision I've ever made. We need each other! With out her, I would have never defeated Electro. Now Harry came out of nowhere so that wasn't really our fault. I think we just needed to be more prepared with our plans."

"What about the promise you made to Gwen's father?" Nick asks.

"Did it ever occur to you that her father just wanted me to leave her out of the bad situations?" I ask back. "He never said we couldn't be together! He specifically said, 'Leave Gwen out of it!' I mean, he probably knew Gwen would want to help me and she probably takes after her father with wanting to help with crime, but he never said we had to break up! I think you should reconsider trying to take her away from me again because honestly, we make a great couple. And I'd make sure she's safe!"

After my mini rant, we're all silent. Then Nick changes the subject and says, "So we're going to fly out to New York, and we're going to form two groups. One will go save Gwen and go after Harry and Black Cat. The other will fight the other three.

"Well I'm going to save Gwen and fight Harry," I say. "This war won't be over till Harry gets a chance to fight me."

"Very well," Nick says.

"Flash, what do you want to do?"

"I'll go with Peter," Flash says. "I don't think I'm experienced enough to fight the other villains."

"But Flash, Harry will be after you since your my best friend!" I tell him.

"I guess that's the risk I'm going to take," he tells me. "Besides, maybe Nick, me, and whoever else can guard S.H.I.E.L.D while you fight Harry."

"That's a good idea," I agree.

"Alright, then my group will just have you guys and I'll have my special agents go after the other villains," Nick says. "Get ready guys! We're leaving in three minutes."
